put it this way, anyone who has had some basic NBC training by the United States military should be more familiar with calling it a Pro Mask
its like calling an M16 a gun or a magazine a clip
or a Bradley a tank

Well what are we talking about?
This

or

this?
I'd tend to call the former the gas mask and the latter protective, as I belive it has protection in addition to just gas along with the whole hood ensemble dealie.

Gas mask.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
