If they removed that option, I'd have to kill some fukkaz.

Obviously you haven't played 98% of games that use HDR. Most games do it in good taste. Only case I can think of that was really overdone was de_dust in Counter-Strike Source where you couldn't see your money. By the looks of GTAIV, it's done in good taste too.

There's rumors swirling that within a few months after the console release, GTA IV will be released on steam.

Nothing's confirmed, but now that Rockstar has a deal with Steam, it's very likely and believable.
