"Slow"
Algebra 1
Algebra 2
Geometry
Algebra 3

"Normal"
Algebra 2
Geometry
Algebra 3
Some other choices like statistics, intro to / pre-calc, etc

"Smart/Asian"
Advanced Math
Advanced Math 2
Advanced Math 3
Calculus i think

Your track is determined by your middle school grades, and unless you're a genius / do some major ass kissing ,it's hard to change your track. Sucks but whatever, like I've said, easy tests are fine by me
Weird.  We have:
Pre-Algebra (LOL)
Geometry
Adv. Geometry
Honors Geometry

Algebra II
Adv. Algebra II
Honors Algebra II

Pre Calc
Adv. Pre Calc
Honors Pre Calc

I don't know anything past that.  But advanced classes are a total waste of time at our school: they're exactly the same difficulty and contain the same material as Honors classes, but you don't get the 1-up GPA boost for grades B- and higher.  So next year I'm taking Honors Pre Calc instead of Advanced classes again.

Do you even have calculus courses then? My school had a variety including: Algebra, Algebra 2 (+ Honors version), Geometry ( + Honors), Pre-Calculus (+ Honors), AP Statistics, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC. Also, Honors and AP classes got the 5.0 GPA scale

Cuando era catorce, tomaba Alg. 2 tambien.

Que tiene despues esa clase?

Edit: We have three main ones, too.

"Normal"/Slightly dumb

Algebra 1
Geometry
Algebra 2 over 2 years (may be some geometry, but I never was in these, so I don't know)

"Slightly advanced"

Geometry
The two years of Algebra 2/potential geometry
Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry

"Honors"
Geometry (honors)
Algebra 2 (honors)
Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry
AP-Calculus (only)

Some kids start at Algebra 2 (like me), rather than geometry.

Yeah we do, I just don't know the exact courses as I haven't gotten that high yet, and I don't really bother to look ahead more than a year.

Last year (When I was a sophomore) I got a 160 (1600) and in the 80 percentile of Juniors, I haven't gotten my most recent results back but I found it way harder last year than I did this year.

What is national merit, flaming?

And, I finally got them back.

Reading:79
Math: 75
Writing skills: 69

Total: 223

I missed the same number of questions in writing skills as last test and got 2 less points.

Works very differently over there in the USA.

College = University?

Gah, its weird. Or I guess... its different.

The best international exams that are in circulation right now is the International Bachaloriate, designed by a private company in Sweden. Some of the US gets it, I believe. Very very demanding course.

Yes, it is.

I don't have IB at my school.

Are these good?  It says I didn't make the NMSC requirements.  Anyone know them?  And what each score comes out to be in a regular percentile grade?
dunno, but I'm doing much better on the real SAT than I did on the PSAT

SAT:

Math: 630
Reading: 530
Writing: 490

They're goin up so I'm fairly happy

Yeah, college and university get thrown around interchangeably. Unlike the silly British where College is something like high school.

Exam score calculations and requirements are difficult to understand. Took classes from New York Bar Exam Course three months back. Found their material to be latest and correct data was provided to solve percentile questions. All sections were given equal time and doubts were cleared at once.
