so much skill
i see what she did there.

NASCAR has road racing circuits and IRL races oval, too. It's just popular for the uninformed to use the "turn left" label against NASCAR because they're sheep who have never watched a race in their life.BlackKoala wrote:

Just to poke fun at the NASCAR fans.
Either baseball or golf. Golf you have to be able to judge a lot of little variables to get you shot to where you want to go. And in baseball it takes a hell of a lot of skill to hit a pitch, considering that you have to be able to judge pitch location, what type of pitch it is (fastball, curve, slider, etc) and speed (can't swing too early or late) in about a tenth of a second. And that's just one aspect of the game.
Yeah id root for golf if id played it too, but SERIOUSLY the most skillfull sport???? If it were tennis, id be happy being told that was a fact.
Golf is a leisure sport is it not?
As i said earlier, when there was 1 vote for golf and i used it in the example.
There is absolutely no way golfs mental needs could compare to the 24hr a day regime a fighter has. it definitely is more of a mental sport than physical, but requires a complete physical fitness regime.
And nascar drivers, please, never met a more respectable set of genius' in my life.
Golf Bahh .. Video games are harder than golf..
EDIT :
Sure they make a half a million dollar prize match kinda hard. Definitely harder than the putt putt some might have to hit that tiny tiny little ball into oh so correctly at home.
How does a complete athlete come along like Bo Jackson or Jordan to use an an example, that can migrate from pro league to pro league? ( and dont mention jordan being shit at the mbl is a fault to my argument, he was better than 50.000.000 other athletes in the USA to ever get noticed, and yes scouted from minor league which he played before the media advertised the fact )
You are never ever gonna see a golfer go from a golf cart to a nascar or become a baseballer. they dont have any of the skills. but atleast complete athletes like footballers and basketballers have a full set of athletic skill, maybe a new mental regime can be added. And so often does.
How big a news would it be if Tiger Woods knocked out Mike Tyson one day at a shopping center. It would seem almost impossible, yet i dont think the news would be half as big if mike beat tiger one day in a game of golf.
And the implication of either event. Tyson would never get a fight again, and would be a laughing stock, Tiger would still be considered top five in the world even though he lost to an amateur.

I'm by no means even a fan, but I'd say hockey requires a fair bit of skill.
as other's have said, boxing is a very technical sport requiring a lot of skill, physically and mentally.
competative table tennis is a remarkable sport.
long range target shooting also requires a lot of technical, physical and mental skill.

Hockey!
Take the above and then do it on ice while people are trying to knock your head off.

How the hell is hockey not up there?
And for you Baseball fans - "Lady I'm not an athlete, I'm a baseball player" - John Kruk, smoking in the dugout at spring training.

I prefer baseball to hockey myself, but I do think the average hockey player is more athletic and skilled than the average baseball player.SgtSlauther wrote:

this thread has no bias whatsoever...
to be honest, Car racing/NASCAR. You'd be surprised at what it takes... and if you say all you do is press on the pedal and turn left then you're an ignorant dick.
edit: For the record, I think NASCAR is boring as shit but at least I'm open minded enough to try and like it. More than I can say for some people.

every sport requires skill in a different area.
i play golf...ive played since i was six, so sticking a green isnt a big deal to me.
however, seeing as how im 5'7 on a good day, someone making a slam dunk seems impossible.
everything requires a different skill set, and its not fair to say that one is "harder" or more valuable than the other.

nascar racing. heres why
you got to know how to position yourself / car in the track at 300+ MPH or else youll hit the wall and get killed. enough said. it breaks my heart to see a car blasted into a pile of scrap metal and seeing debris fly around the place like some bomb went off.

Each sport requires its own set of skills, none of which being better than another.
