I've only played the demo, I play it fine on low at a good average framerate. I don't want to buy Crysis though because it's not worth spending money upgrading my system. Sure I could play it on low settings but fuck that Crysis' only quality was it's super-impressive graphics and if I can't have that then fuck the whole thing. There are other games out with better storylines anyway.

well, your system is way too old and thats just about it. Stop blaming Crysis if only your system is outdated. You havent played the retail, so you cant judge it. Fullstop.

I'm not blaming Crysis for my system being outdated Mr. I-use-two-top-of-the-line-graphics-cards-and-have-more-high-end-computers-then-Ty-would-know-what-to-do-with, I was pointing out that I won't be upgrading because Crysis is only really worth playing if you can experience the full power of the graphics. Since I can't have the graphics with my limited hardware and finances I say screw the whole thing until the year 2020 when hopefully I will once again have money.

wow, man, easy... Do you really need to get personal here? Just wow.

All I´ve said that your system is too old, well, nothing wrong with that, it´s fact. And you havent played the retail, fact. Why the f*ck are you judging it then?! This game will run on your system in medium settings perfectly and will still look awesome.

The day you´ve played the whole campaign, feel free to come back and blame it if you want.

But hey...

Well, that kinda frame rate does seem pretty high for your specs.  Pretty much everyone else, review sites included, don't see those framerates on considerably more powerful hardware.  Of course if you're playing at a lower resolution, that could give you good framerates, but even at that, with everything set to high I wouldn't think your hardware would do it.

For reference, googling lead to a review with a quad core + 768mb 8800GTX, and the only time it hits that kind of frame rate is at 1024*768, low settings, and no AA: http://www.tomsgames.com/us/2007/11/16/ … o_vs_full/

I can play the game all on high 1440x900 (not very high) with my FPS anywhere from 30-50.  I will post some screenshots later.

2GB Geil
74GB Raptor

1440 x 900, no AA, everything on medium except for shadows which are on low, 30fps.
It gets to around 20fps in the REALLY intense firefights, like the carrier being attacked by the aliens, but gets to 40 when I'm just walking/driving along.

And Ty, I don't agree when you say that the game is only worth playing on high settings. I played the whole game in one sitting (stayed up until about 5:30am). It wasn't because I was staring at the pretty pictures, but rather because I was having so much fun, jagged-edge slideshow or not. Check it out, you might be surprised.

None havent tried to yet and afraid to because of all the problems I have been hearing.  I also have to play the game in dx9 because of the menu crash.

Yeah that's a weird occurance.. I sometimes fire up the 32 bit executable in directx10 (running Vista Ultimate x64), but the mouse won't hover over the menu's, it's stuck at a bit to the right... When I fire up the 64 bit .exe in either dx9 or dx10 it's ok..
Weird thing
Continue on topic though
