They changed the price for it. I enjoy buying games for cheaper than they are.
Steam if great for buying most game IMO, and so far i dont have problem with it so, Steam ftw!
what was the price before?
I would have got it over steam but downlaoding 8 gig would take me around a week.

It's the same price in-store on on steam for me...
Oh wait... "From: Brisbane, Australia"
I see, Australian taxes and all.

Yeah price is great, but if you were one of the 'LOL OMG COD4" kids, you couldn't wait the extra week for Steam support.
Its not because you had a bad experience with steam that it make it crappy for everyone IMO.MetaL* wrote:

steam was a good option until the price doubled (here in australia)

Activision suddenly realised that they were making less profit via steam and hiked the price. And because we are australia, it happened.
I don't get it too.TimmmmaaaaH wrote:

They changed the price to more accurately resemble the store prices (after I bought, heh, I saved $40)....
Because the store price doesn't reflect the value of the Aus Dollar vs. the US dollar right now, they hiked the steam price...
WHY NOT JUST DROP THE FUCKING STORE PRICES NUMBNUTS!?
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
why do you guys care? you already have the game?Flecco wrote:

It is not taxes. It is price gouging.{M5}Sniper3 wrote:

Next time, they won't start out with it cheap...
It is not our taxes, it is simply the publisher being greedy.
how much money says that it won't happen with other games?TimmmmaaaaH wrote:

Lol, I got it before the price hike.

Meh, I was planning to buy it in hard copy anyway.

Still irks me that here in Australia, just because we are classified as a 'small' market, we get the short end of the stick.
Alot.
WoW has to be the biggest example of this, with well over 500,000 Australian players, they still haven't managed to get a local server.

Don't we have Frostmorne and shit?Flecco wrote:

They are set to Oceanic time but are located in the USA. Thus for an Australian player to be good in the battle grounds it's something special, because normally they are dealing with a latency of 1/2 a second. 1/10th of a second in CSS can get you killed and I guess it's the same in WoW... What with the way mages pop off insta-casts in the high level battle groups. From what I've heard, a deal between Blizz and Telstra to set up servers in Australia went south and since then Blizzard haven't tried for local Aust. servers again.Sarrk wrote:
