Well folks, I searched for it and didn't find anything about it. So here is my question.
I recently downloaded the Omega drivers. This was a huge mistake. Battlefield 2 would freeze, my screen went black for 40 seconds, the sound would freeze, and after a while it would turn to normal. Mostly resulting in a couple of deaths. (People who would take advantage of me standing still doing nothing.)

Today, I downloaded the Official Ati Radeon Mobilty 9600/9700 series drivers. I haven't got the time yet to check if it would be allright, but I have high hopes.
Does anyone know what these issues mean? I personally think that the drivers set my screen resolution from 1400x1050 to 800x600. (Reso I use for windows to reso I use for bf2) And this apparently takes a minute or two. Before, when I had the standard drivers I had no problems. Reason why I swicthed to the Omega ones is, I wanted a better perfomance regarding graphics.

If anyone knows what this is, please let me know.

My second problem is: I have lag after 1 to 2 hours of play. My ping is very unstable, it raises from 29 to 899 and then back. It is really annoying and I have no clue what this could be. A reason could be the rayl.A.worm virus I got in the Logocache of battlefield 2. I deleted it completely today, using Symantec Virus Help. Did this before, but didn't work.

Third and last problem is my gamespy error. I read a lot about it, and mostly all of it doesn't help or doesn't seem to add up for me.
I have two connections. At 1 house where I play, I got no single Gamespy error, and the other house I do after 3 games played. Both residences have routers. I guess it has something to do with it, but both are configured the same.
Anyone know what the problem is, post it.

Thanks in advance, I would really like to see these problems fixed so I can play without interuptions.

I was having problems with my Radeon 9800 PRO locking up and rebooting or crashing me to desktop at random times, usually 10 to 30 minutes into each session. I uninstalled my ATi 6.1 Catalyst drivers, uninstalled BF2, installed the ATi 5.5 Catalyst drivers, reinstalled BF2. I also set my AGP Speed to 4x and turned off Fast Writes, and made sure that my desktop resolution was the same that I was running BF2 at. Just played for about 2 hours without any problems, lag, hangups or lockups so that seemed to work for me.

I would try out what I did if you can't fix your graphic card problem. Hope it helps.
