I've been trying to get FarCry working in HDR.

I've been fairly successful, but I encounter the infinite ammo bug - which is extremely annoying. I can't play the game through with infinite ammo. Does anyone have any ideas.

Please don't say reinstall it and don't use the HDR patch, using the HDR patch is the whole point.....

I didnt even know there was an HDR patch.... I just wish HDR wasnt so taxing on my video cards, valve is the ONLY developer who has done it right IMO, it looks great and is actually functional.

I don't know if FEAR had HDR, but their lighting effects were pretty sweet and that ran great.

I don't think FEAR did have HDR lighting effects. They did look very nice though.

FarCry looks beautiful in HDR. It makes such a difference. Shame about the old school shaders and low poly count on character models. It does give your GPU a bit of a pounding though, I notice the occasional spot of (very minor) slowdown on my 8800 when HDR is enabled, which for an ancient game like FarCry does show how much the HDR hits the GPU. Recommended spec for running it suddenly jumps from a 6600GT to a 7900GTX.

Get the patch, go into the console and type: \r_HDRRendering 7

To get AA working at the same time (not recommended on 6 or 7 series Nvidia cards because the same hardware is used for AA and HDR and nasty things can happen) type: \r_FSAA 2
I encourage people to give it a go. Then if anyone doesn't experience the infinite ammo bug, let me know.
