Yep. Looks good for me since I only have PCI and APG slots.
In all honesty, I'm actually surprised that they (NV) released another high-end AGP card at all. The 6800GS was definitely a good card for the price. But it looks like this'll be the nail on the coffin for AGP. Happy hunting for those seeking this card out.
if your gonna spend that much on an agp card why not just buy a pcie system?
EDIT : AMD Athlon 64 +3500 venice core s939 = $201

DFI Lanparty UT NF4 SLI-DR Expert = $189

And this awesome pick-up XFX-7800GT = $289

so all that for $679, how much will the 7800gs be? i think it will be around high to $299-$399, ill check
EDIT 2 : And if you wanna get the price down more, get a lovely 6800gs, i put the 7800gt in there coz its cheap and sli ready so if ya wanna grab another later. So anyone seriously thinking of gettin the 7800gs should just save more and go to the future PCI-e
EDIT 3 : check these benchies on the gs,

I'm going to upgrade to 1 gig corsair RAM and either the 6800 ULTRA / 7800 GS or go with a high end ATI card, what ever seems the cheapest. And it's a waste of time upgrading to PCI-E, with AM2 coming out and G71 series, i'm going to wait.
if ya really wanna save just go the 6800gt or 6800gs
The MSRP for the 7800GS is $300. So $300 compared to $679 doesn't work out well for those who has a decent AGP-based system. While one can just use the same CPU to transition over to the new platform, the amount needed to get a PCI Express system may not fit their budget. Also note that going with PCI Express may also include getting a new power supply, since some PCI Express cards need those PCIe power connectors. $300 can definitely be sufficient enough to tie(?) them over until the next major system upgrade..ACB|_Cutthroat1 wrote:
