Figured I'd share this one with ya... first a visual representation (albeit a little bit outdated, still current however) of the desktop...

https://img487.imageshack.us/img487/338/messydesk5bf.th.jpg

As for the hardware...

Athlon X2 3800+ @ 2.4GHz (240x10, 1.40v) & Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu
EPoX EP-9NPA+SLi (was MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum w/ 1.9 BIOS)
Gigaram GR1DD8T-K2GB/400/2.5 (was Crucial PC3200 512MB x 2, 8-4-4-3 @ 2T (initial batch: Samsung chips))
EVGA GeForce 7800GT CO SE (was ATi R9800 Pro 128MB & Zalman VF700-Cu)
Western Digital 180GB/2MB PATA + Maxtor 20GB
Viewsonic P225 (21in CRT) + Norwood Micro 19" 16ms DVI LCD (from CompUSA)
Logitech G5

Audio output via SPDIF coax to a Sony HT-DDW750 5.1 home-theater speaker set, with a Sony MDR-7506 headphones.  Altec Lansing AHS502i (don't buy this, audio = horrible for closed phones) used for voice-comms.

Piloting controls is done via Microsoft's own Xbox 360 controller.  Simply download the drivers and go!  Caveat however... there is no "dead center" so a feather touch in any direction will tell your aircraft to do something.  Whether that's by hardware or software design is beyond me.

(specs updated as of Feb 2, 2006)

.. Get ready to start laughing..

CPU:
(Untill a few weeks ago I was running BF2 with this: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K7/AMD-At … AMS3B.html )
Now this: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K7/AMD-At … DKV4D.html
Motherboard:
http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/pro … mp;model=6
RAM:
768Mb DDR (Runs dual channel - and yes I know its crappy running dual channel with 256Mb and 512Mb)
GFX:
http://www.dealtime.co.uk/xPF-Point_of_ … r_Warranty (Yes I know its crappy. But its totally insanely overclocked - only keept alive by a huge hunk of aluminium cooling - and it weighs a ton )
Monitor:
A crappy CTX 17" old standard monitor (max res: 1600 x 1024 - and I know its a fucked up res)
Mic:
A old headset I broke and now lays in bits and parts on my desktop
Headset:
These I'm proud of: http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser/ic … root/05180 The best audio I've ever heard - and I got em )
Discdrives:
16x Lite-on CD-burner
8x Plextor Dvd-burner
Speakers
My comp is pluged into my homemade entertainment system. My audio is made up of a stereo and 4 speakers: 2x 'small' 80Watt and 2 'big' 200Watt it packs a punch

.. And now cry when I tell you that I kind of own people with this gear

PS: Nice little workstation you got there Chuy

(Future edit: I'm at school right now but I'll upload a pic of my junk when I get home - but I can tell you that its painted silver, has a green neon light and I have been shooting at it - And YES there are bulletholes in it!)

Just put this bad boy together this week and tested it out last night without the x2 Sata II HD's.  Was the first or second one in the server everytime.  So I'm really interested to see how much faster it will be after installing the 2 HD's in Raid 0 today, guess I'll find out tonight after work.....

Would like to thank alot of you guys in these forums for you imput on tech questions I had, helped me to put together a system that was cost effective and runs like a dream....

lol put your aa up to x4 looks way better, sif you'd buy that anyway, how much was it? next time if you lay down a wad of cash, buy your own parts and build it, you get exactly what you want, its almost always cheaper and you get the feeling of knwoing you built it
