A little debate in another thread got me thinking about differing opinions on sport throughout the world and how different people perceive different sports. Now without resorting to all-out mud slinging cast your vote and give a little background to your decision and maybe even post some clips of magic moments that might show sceptics why your chosen sport is so special to you.

Snooker, It doesn't involve much exercise just skill and lots of practise.
Baseball, because I have always played it and it really is a good sport - competitively or otherwise
E-sports motherfucker.
Nothing beats a good old game of professional 1.6.

Rugby league becauce of the fast pace and big hits no fucking body armour there.

For me football (soccer to our American friends) is the beautiful game. Incredible skill is involved, athletic ability in a number of key areas is needed and a very unique type of vision or 'intelligence' is required to be one of the greats. Scores are often low but this just makes the act of scoring a goal even more special, just look at the delight on the face of a footballer scoring a vital goal. Here are a few of my favourite soccer moments...
1990 World Cup Second Round: Rep. Ireland vs. Romania (penalty shoot out)
Marco Van Basten for Holland vs. Russia at Euro 88
Gregory Coupet for Lyon vs. Barcelona in th Champions League (note: a keeper is not allowed to pick up a pass back from his own teammate)
Random examples of the skill inherent in football

Football. Those who play sports know why. Those who have to ask will never know.

Hockey, by far. If you say anything else, I'll shoot you, with a puck.
It keeps you jumping in your seat, and you gotta love the hits and fights.

football... its not just a load of players running around with a ball shooting, it involves extreme fitness lots of people in a team involved not just players n manager obviously, it can be put- u can be fat and play rugby, but u cant be fat and play football
Cricket is hell fun to play but I would rather die then actually watch an entire match on TV. Sooo boring.....TheDarkRaven wrote:

Rock climbing because you have to grow a set of big uns.
Football aka soccer.
You need a good amount of skill and a ton of endurance to play. Plus, the game is very dynamic and and doesn't stop. I used to play it a lot (need to get in a league now, perhaps a weekend warrior league), and it's my favorite sport to watch.
