Yeah I was thinking about the 911 since its a very good car, but as well as the resale value is just crazy. You can buy it for 60k and then 5 years later sell it for 40 - 50k. The price in porsches will keep itself very high indeed.

Yep, Porsches have a very a low depreciation rate. My vote would be for the 911, too
I'd get a boat.

go stage 4 and change your oil every 1000 milestrippy982 wrote:
Buy a STi. Go to Stage 4 and still have $5000-$7,000 left over. You'll own every car on that list and you don't have to have it a summer only car with perfect straight away pavement conditions to drive it.
Compared to anything else you buy, a car is one of the worst things you can purchase. Even with proper maintenance and a car that will keeps it's value, you still have something that will suck the money right out of you, especially to do maintenance that keeps the value up, regardless of how much you spend on it.buLLet_t00th wrote:
Its not a terrible investment, if you play your cards right, lookafter the car, keep low mileage and purchase a car which will keep its value, then when you want a new car the trade in value will be decent. It saves you from running your car into the ground, it not having any value and then paying full price for a new car.heggs wrote:
Altima Coupe. Better on gas mileage than anything you've listed. Clearly not as cool as the others, but cars are the worst investment you can make, so why not run with one that's decent and has good gas mileage.
I know its hard to do this, but if you can its worth it.
Also, the more you spend on a car initially, the more it's going to cost to properly maintain it.

If you're only looking at the cars out of the list and don't care how much anything costs after you buy it, then go for the 911. For that kind of money though, you're looking at a pretty basic one though. I'd personally look at the BMW Z4 M, 3.2-liter inline 6 from the M3, with 343 hp and 0-62 mph in 5.0 seconds, pretty much the same ratios as the 911, and cheaper.

No I am not looking just at that list, I made this post to see what you all think and maybe help me choose some other vehicles to consider as well.buLLet_t00th wrote:

I can't afford a $170,000 car, but if I could I would get the Ford GT for sure!
For 60 g's? If that was the price I would've got a loan and shipped one over!
Old School GT500, then 911
Why so?Ryan wrote:

Has anybody seen that car off Pimp My Ride that was converted to a Bio Diesel engine? It premiered in the UK last night. It had Arnie on it.
A Ferrari service costs about $5000, and they come round pretty reguarly.0akleaves wrote:

M3. 911 would also be a good choice, but everyone knows that they're driven by wankers.

If your looking at 911's then Id look at the Audi R8 - Came a close second to the 911 is a class test, but the 911 is common (and a lot of people just think 'twat') but the R8 is still very rare and much cooler.
Don't buy a vette if its not a z06
Try to buy a evo 9 mr or something. Cheaper and faster
