Hi please help!

Been playing battlefield 2142 for a week now with no problems, now all of a sudden the game freezes after about 2 minutes of play. Sometimes with a high pitched looping sound and sometimes just stops. Usually I can ctl,alt, del out but sometimes need to do a reset. Any ideas?

specs are:
Core 2 duo E6700
4Gb kingston Ram
2 x Sapphire Radeon X1950PRO 512MB (crossfire)
250GB Western Digital Caviar SE16 SATA II
160GB Maxtor DiamondMax 20 SATA II
Coolermaster RealPower 550W PSU
2 x Lite-on LH-20A1S-15C SATA
Hanns G HW191D 19"LCD - widescreen
Win XP Professional - SP2

Try doing a registry clean/defragment. Worked for me.

Cheers r2zoo, ill give it a try when I get home. Thanks for all the help guys, ill let you know how i get on. Love this game but it doesn't half seem to be a bitter sweet experience.

I hade the same problem. My problem was with my profile which I fixed by deleting the 2142 folder on My Documents worked like a charm.

Sorted in the end, deleted the Radial.cdb file and all is well. Another impressively irritating little nuance from an otherwise good game.

That radial file sure is a problem, no idea what it actually does, but it manages to screw the game up something bad.

My problems come back after only a month or so, how rubbish is this!!.

Will EA ever fix this problem.
