Any real flow users here? Im trying to create an effect, but no dice. Their website is kinda lite on info so Im posting in every semi-related forum I belong to.

So anyways, I need to create a moving sheet o water. Similar to a waterfall, but smaller scale. I tried, but failed. Any suggestions, tutorials? Google's got nothing, hence the post.

Not really new. Their software has been used for years. Hell, you've probably seen it and didn't notice. It was used in 300 for the Blood in the fight scenes.

Im just trying to learn better waterfall for my pool designs.

Not that anyone is waiting with baited breath, but I thought I would update the thread.

Got many answers from people on other sites, they essentially told me to experiment more and get a faster computer.
I moved away from an entire waterfall scene because it was taking about 1 min + per 1 frame of fluid calculation. Consider most video is 24 fps (film i believe) 29.97 (some technical thing for the film industry) and 30 fps. So thats a long time, but then it was calculating interactions for about 400k particles.

SO ANYWAYS, now that I have truly bored everyone, the end result was a smaller scale sim which I also rendered out. Basically, I need a bigger boat (computer).

real flow for the simulation & the water mesh, 3ds max9 for the render. Real flow has a plugin so you can go back and forth between the two.

This looks sweet, but what I really need is the fastest cpu out there. From what I understand, more clock cycles is going to help me render and do calcs faster.
