Are there any total conversions for this game like Real GTA3 for GTA3?

Also, I tried changing some of the cars but most of them didn't work for some reason? Shed some light please.

Check out this place: San Andreas Files

The second most downloaded file is the [S]an [A]ndreas [M]od [i]nstaller, or SAMI.  This is a great tool for easily installing mods, which includes: skins, vehicles, models, clothes, textures, etc.

Also, you could try GTA Garage Mod Manager, but you'll need to use GGM files with this one.  Even if you don't use it to change your cars, it's always a nice program to view them.

However; your best bet would be to use the IMG Tool.  This is going to be the most reliable, yet not as user friendly.  You're not having to deal with special files, such as with GGMM, or going through the install process of SAMI.  It can be a little confusing, but there are people who are willing to help.

Good luck.  And I hope this info hasn't already been posted.

Thanks for your reply. I did use the IMG2.0 tool to install the cars (replacing the .txd and .dff files etc), and then I used the GTA Garage Mod Manager to view the cars. Out of the four cars we installed only one ended up looking any different in GGMM.

Well I've never actually used the IMGTool on San Andreas, yet I've used it for previous GTA titles.

I guess the next step is going ingame, and seeing if your changes applied.

Keep in mind for GTA:SA mods, many of them do not work on newer versions of the game; you need the 1.0 version.

Yeah I've got the old version where the cars are dirty.

Is there any mods to allow the cars to 'get' dirty on their own, instead of one way or the other?
