As far as I'm concerned, illegals are a big problem.  Everyone says they take the jobs that Americans don't want because of the low pay, and that is BS.  If you let natural supply/demand economics do their job, the wage scale for these jobs would come in line and Americans would take them.  I definitely agree that as long as companies are willing to take the chance on hiring illegals to save money, that penalizing companies in the place to start.  The police couldn't keep prostitutes off the streets, so they started going after the "Johns".  They need to start heavily penalizing employers that hire illegals, so much so that hiring them is not going to be worthwhile if they get cought.

If these fucking illegals would put half as much effort into changing the status of job availability in their own country, as they do trying to come here illegaly, they wouldn't have a fucking job shortage problem.

Another reason to love NZ: We're even most physically isolated than Australia, the only illegal immigrants we have are overstayers (good luck getting a shitty raft over here!), mostly from places like Samoa and Tonga, and the few we do get always seem to get caught and sent home.
No offense, but I'd rather stay here or in Tonga or Samoa than NZ. WAAAAAAAAAY too cold, volcanoes, earthquakes... Not my cup o' tea.
