POE is hardcore. I only just started playing it just yesterday night and in some small infantry only map, but immediately you learn that the enemy is dangerous and very unforgiving to newbs. In fact it might be a problem since it might frustrate new player and make POE unpopular to the masses, except to the veteran soldiers.
POE2 is the best, but yes people were leaving it, now the true players have stayed, how ever the stats tracking stystem will have a significant impact on NO. players, in that they will go up.
I played POE2 last night for the first time, and basically had the same sort of results as bf2 - died more than the other bloke. lots of trees to get lost in ( and hide in ).
in other words I had a ball - will be back for more.

Not one single map can I say I want to play again. The night one sucks big time.

It's in a slump I really think the addition of the US and Russian teams will stir up more interest. A lot of players seem to be in Europe, because of how they can sort of relate to the German and Ukrainian teams. But US players, though they may be curious, just may not feel the same way. If/when the US and Russians are added, I think the community will see a surge in the playerbase.JeeSqwat wrote:

Poe2 is awesome.....but its dieing.....to many idiots care more about their points and ranks than just playing.
I played POE2 when it first came out and I thought it was awesome. I especially liked the sound and driving the vehicles. The EuroTiger copter owns. I havn't played for a long time though because I got into oblivion and have been playing that for the past few months. Does anyone still play POE? Are full or close to full servers plentiful? I logged into battlefield 2 yesterday and am feeling the itch to start playing again.
I ***LOVE*** POE2, I think it's far superior to vanilla BF2 because it really needs teamwork. I wish there were more US-based servers, but i get a good game on a regular basis on the TacticalGamer.com server, which is almost always packed full of fun, mature players.
There isn't much more fun than squading up in the HIND chopper and being a gunner for a good pilot. Now if only I could get more people to squad up in the hind, it would be like the blackhawk of the old days.... an unbeatable killing machine. Have two engineers in the back fixing it up, a supply guy keeping the ammo up, and the pilot and copilot be medics to heal the crew in case you need to go out of bounds for a while or the crew takes some shrapnel (Which does happen pretty regularly)

just played a bit for the first time today... too much armor and the ticket rate was too damn fast (maybe it was the server)... guess what my answer was...
Different maps have different "themes". Highway to Hell is a slugfest involving tons of armor. Fallen is an IO map that uses foliage and hills for cover.

I've got back into this in the last couple weeks. Since the patches and new maps, this is really good now. I've been having lots of fun.
If you haven't tried this since it was first released, I recommend trying it again. And if you just love the vanilla bf2 maps, they've even ported them over to POE2.
