You have to either subscribe/pay or just register for free to fileplanet, when you do click on the Quake Wars Beta at the top and it should bring you to a screen that says distributed and announced, keeping checking back and when it says that more keys are being given out click on join beta. It then asks you to input your systems parts, like gfx card and RAM etc. Then you submit those. If it says your system doesn't meet requirements then I think you have to clear your cookies or something. The very forst page of this thread has all the info .Zimmer wrote:

If you ever played CS years ago via gamespy then you will have an account already,otherwise register for free (not subscribe)
Once logged in Quake wars is at the bottom right,click on there and you can check availability.

Here is a tip from yesterday:
Never use the refresh button in your browser. Always go back one step and than click again on what ever you need to click.
If you are waiting for the registration to begin go on fileplanet main page and than click on the link. If it still says "announced" than go back to main page and click the link again... and so on.
Also when you get in often between steps you will get a error (for example after confirming that you read the license agreement), this is due to thousands of people doing the same thing as you are. Again DONT REFRESH. Go back than do the necessary step again.

Not that impressed by the beta, it is the beta though so theres going to be bugs but the overall gameplay got annoying. Everytime I spawned I got killed or raped by bullets/lasers or whatever the fuck they are and I land and boom killed by a nade. Spawn again and I run to the jeep and some idiot on my team hops in and runs me over? then spawn again and keep getting these fire grenades thrown at me before I land.
Ontop of that I spectated for like 5 mins and the bunny hoping typical Quake game but this game just seems weird with the bunny hoping, doesn't and shouldn't blend. I can't be bothered with that shit, and the spawn rape was fuckin annoying beyond belief and idk how to spawn elsewhere.

The only things I dont like is the guns take far to long to kill someone with all the running and jumping. The Strogg are also way better than the GDF in terms of firepower. The guns need to do more damage so running around and jumping doesnt help as much and the GDF need to be more powerful. Right now only the GDF sniper rifle and shotgun are worth using, the other guns are horrible and inaccurate. Other than that I can run it very smoothly except for lag issues on some servers and it is impressive to me. Remember this is based off Wolfenstein + Quake so it IS supposed to be a run and gun spray and pray bunnyhopping game. If you dont like that kind of gameplay you will not like this game at all.

I played it yesterday but its not that good.Bf2 is much better.Just my opinion.
Ive noticed no one EVER uses the tormentor. I cant figure how to fly the thing without doing flips but no one else ever flys it.
The chopper isn't hard to fly. I toke invert mouse option off, I think its better also, and the heli has a auto lock on with the missles thats IF you can stand still and keep it on the target for like 5 mins.
Any one have a beta key that i could use? I have been trying to get one all day but i couldn't.
