I was playing 2142 over the weekend, and saw a line on the news ticker warning that 'the enemy has been spotted approaching the Arabian penninsula!  Keep watch for more info.'  Sorry for no screen shot, but I did not think of it at the time.  Just log on to 2142 to see it for yourself, I guess. 

Does this mean that another booster pack is in the making?  Are we likely to see some of the MEC maps from BF2?  Do we really want Karkand 2142?  Does anyone have any more info, or have they seen the same news ticker tease?

What MEC maps would you like to see in 2142?  I think Zatar wetlands would make a great Titan Mode map.  Mashtuur City might be fun with the transports.

they are referring to highway tampon that takes place on the arabian peninsula, and its due to be released for 2142 soon

Ah.  Was hoping for more than just one map.  After all, not like it would take TOO much work to adapt a BF2 map to 2142, right?

Tampa should be good for 2142 if they fix tampa up. Right now its pretty boring....Sure its ala 1942, but at least in 1942 you had massive aerial dogfights going on and some B17 buzzing along wtfpwning all the bases. All you have in Tampa now in bf2 is a few tanks, WAAAY to much dust and not enough air units. Increase air units+air defence, that would make it a bit more interesting.

I got excited after I saw this 'Arabian Peninsula' thing, but after Surgeon clearing it up and saying about Highway Tampa, I'm still excited

However, can we have more gunships rather than just one/two? Suez Canal has two gunships and no problems there!!

Edit: I don't see how Highway Tampa will fit into the 2142 Storyline also, it might contain oil there still ^_^

Agreed on the gunship thing.  Given the rarity of good pilot/gunner teams, their fragile outer hulls and the lengthy respawn time, we truly need more gunships.

If you want to be very air- heavy, maybe 3 gunships and 2 transports per team?  Or start with 2 gunships, and the center flag have a pad to spawn a third for either team?  The wide openess of it would be pretty good for titan mode, which is usually pretty vehicle heavy anyway.

Since this map is sponsored by Intel and is told to contain a lot of advertising, they obviously will force us to have a view - so no vehicles at all!

Seriously I hope they take care of the size and place some additional FAVs all over the map, not only at the flags.
