Has anyone ever realised that their would be an armored fury map with the european forces?
When I was going through my local. Files I found both an Av-8B Harrier II and a AH-7 Lynx.
Next patch?

For those who say that the Lynx is actually the PLA recon helicopter, you are wrong. Because the W-11Z is copied from the French AS 350B.

Aww.. another thing in the line of 'cool things that never fully made it into BF2'

Woulda been sweet though (that could have been the China urban map people wanted, just EU vs PLA)

Found some screenshot on Redjade, a company formed of ex-Dice Canada employees.

It would be awsome if they would have these toys in the game

Awesome? Yes.
Plausible? No.

Too bad. That Harrier really looks kick ass.

The Lynx would have been the EU's transport helicopter. As seen by the helipads on Great Wall (which are out of bounds I might add and were originally meant for the elusive 64player versions of the EF maps).
However, there are no transport helis in the released version of the EF booster - but the Lynx would have been on Great Wall for the EU had they been assed to create 64player maps.

The Harrier was originally meant for AF and was included in the previews somewhere. If you look closely there is a kill message for a "vb1" which we found before and could only put it down as being one of these:

So I dont quite see where you are getting the cross link from

Because the in AF there has to be a secondary chopper. And since all EF forces don't sport any transport heli's I figured that is their scout.

the lynx was supposed to be the SAS transport heli.

The USMC uses the harrier. If you look closely you can even see a US marking on the wings. It was supposed to be included with AF but got taken out due to balancing (which makes sense because it would be the only Air-to-air combat capable craft)

Where is the link between EF & AF?
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

But I think the question remains... why did the BF2 producers include the harrier and the linx in the files if they were not ment to be used in the software. It's like... hard disk space waste. When someone designs a programme or patch or anything related to those, one of the objetives is to make it as light as possible (Even if we are talking about BF2. Pretty heavy game).
I agree it could be a future next patch with some new elements like when the patch 1.41 that included "Road to Jalalabad".

I truly doubt it, but dreams are allowed of course.
