Poll
Do you think skill is based more on Intelligence or Reflexes?
Intelligence by Far | 52% | 52% - 241
Reflexes like Jet Lee | 47% | 47% - 221
Total: 462 |
I think its because you pretty much tired everybody else out who was arguing for Intelligence +1 for stamina! Looks like Reflexes are catching up even more (Again for the record, Intelligence has 3 votes by the same guy that shouldn't count) Sooo the poll status should be:DivineMomentofTruth wrote:
awww come on such a long post and no follow up discussion... I'm sad.
Intelligence: 145
Reflexes: 143
We have a total of 292 votes, is that equal to the majority of the registered BF2s community? Curious....
Nature is a powerful force. Those who seek to subdue nature, never do so permanently.
well I usually play infantry only karkand (don't flame) and intelligence is definately the most important, I usually finish a round with like 70 kills and maybe 4 or 5 deaths. I do this by playing smart, using cover, using my ears to hear where the nearby battles are taking place, and by reloading at the right times.
reflex is also important when it comes to flicking a sniper shot. I've never met somebody that can aim as fast as me in this game, I'm serious.
So, I nulled.

Thanks for being our 4th idiot of this poll good going. If you null you shouldn't even bother to post, and if you don't bother to post you shouldn't even vote-|TS|-owNzu7 wrote:

I DEMAND A RECOUNT! lol
Yes, it appears that Intelligence has taken a far lead...We've had 13 people vote just today, and not one of them posted WHY they voted. Makes me believe that someone is still tipping the poll for some stupid reason.

It's all about the Situational Awareness.
No its all about Mongoose Reflexiveness
I would say intelligence, if this includes situational awareness and tactics.
Reflexes are less important in bf2 than in other FPS.

skill is al about apprehension
Both, but I chose reflexes.
Phew...
One or the other, eh?
I'd have to go with intelligence. Intelligence is more likely to get you through the tougher gunfights, IMO.
For examples:
*Faced with superior numbers, intelligence is more likely gonna prevail against reflexes. Chances are that all the reflexes in the world aren't gonna help with anything beyond a squad of newbies.
*Faced with superior weapons (i.e. infantry vs. tanks), intelligence is more likely gonna prevail over reflexes. Uh... DUH!
*Faced against opponents with superior reflexes, intelligence is gonna tell you how to make it a more even match. Let's face it. There is always going to be those out there with better relexes than you, and in those instances, it's better to out-think them than become their new favorite victim bitch.
*Faced against players actually using tactics (i.e. intelligence) is gonna be pointless if you're not realizing what you opponents are doing to pull every advantage that they can have.
Now that I've thrown out a couple of examples, I've gotta admit that everyone is gonna run into many surprises despite a decent amount of intelligence, and in those cases, good reflexes are definitely going to be a good thing to have in those instances.
Afterall...
The truly dangerous players out there have both intelligence AND good reflexes.

Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
REFLEX FTW, when you jump into a group of about 10 enemy's you got about a hlaf a second to desided who to take out first... the way i do it is = 1. people that seen me 2. supports and Misc 3. medics 4 snipers
My point is that true intelligence in this game is negligable due to simplistic tactics and what can be learned and integrated into reflex from experience.

I've been playing this game for a pretty long time and this is what I've found. In the earlier patches it was all about reflexes, this was mainly because I could be firing instantly from any position/bouncing through the air on my stomach/pronespamming. So in the past it was all about reflexes, and the ability to mash ctrl+shift+z. As that key mashing technique has been nerfed however it has come down to intelligence. It doesn't matter how fast you are if they are a certain distance away you have to go prone, if you go prone you have to wait a half second or whatever to fire. In that amount of time they usually have the drop on you. I've found that the old tricks of prone spamming and dolphin diving could only be countered with sick reflexes, but now that they have all but been eradicated, the only thing left is to outsmart the other guy and get behind him or throw some sick nades. Besides, since so many people have been playing for so long, it's almost gotten like CS. At least on Karkand that is. Everyone knows the 5 or 6 ways into the city and they are all camped so you usually have to outsmart the other team rather than run in and take out 5 guys with your sick reflexes. That's my 2 cents.
Now that we got moved to the poll section I just thought, why the hell and not revive this? I notice we are STILL getting more and more votes anyway.

Intelligence. They might be fast, but if your smart you can lure them into a choke point. Through a Clay down or set up for an ambush.
~ Do you not know that in the service … one must always choose the lesser of two weevils?
Both, though reflexes are more important than intelligence in a FPS.
Null vote. Like a lot of other people said, a good balance of them both makes a good soldier.
reflexes, intelligence is pointless if three people run round the corner with ak's in hand, though u could say if you where smart ud never get into that situation....
GTFO. I said if you HAVE to pick one how dumb are you?FarBeyondReality wrote:

I didn´t read the whole thread, but i think, it depends most on experience. good reflexes and intelligence are both important, but useless without experience.
i voted for reflex, because it is at least a little percentage more important to aim properly, than to use some tricks.
