So, it is planned to be released next month.
It looks great imo, but I am hope they altered the game play from the Tiberium Sun titles, because that wasn't the best one in the book (except for Renegade, which was worse).

Who is gonna get it, legally that is, and what are your thoughts of ingame content?

It seems out of the screenshots, that they go back to the cnc build method, and not the generals build method.

And please for the love of the lord, bring back in the naval units. I miss the naval units in every Electronic Arts game. (Last was Red Alert 2 & Battlefield 1942). The are underrated.

It looks very cool, and they did good by brining the CnC build style back.

I actually enjoyed Renegade. Played for a couple of months. Choppers made it much better, though they were a bit buggy. I did get tired of magically-spawning enemies in the campaign, though. The Generals universe would make for a better FPS. The Generals interface was also tolerable to me. I'm sometimes difficult to please, but I guess I was moderately satisfied with these two games...though damn them for removing the FMV sequences!!

CnC interface > Generals interface. The last thing I want to be doing is finding out that my units are getting trashed and having to jump back to my base to build more (though CoH got around this in a very obvious way)

Though I wonder if they kept firestorm, that thing was the ultimate superdefense. GDI + Firestorm = Unstoppable. (unless you're up against a few ion cannons)

Yes. And it looks like they brought back a modified RA2 sidebar.

Hopefully EA will not go crazy with micromanagement because that will ruin the game for me. I have every C&C and I'm a bit worried that EA will screw up the C&C series. (Like they did so many others.) Generals and Zero Hour were alright, but they have a few annoying bugs. Hopefully EA brings back the navel units and FMV sequences in C&C 3. *Crosses fingers*

DICE is owned by EA, that is completely different from run by EA. Most companies in the world are owned by some conglomerate like Diagio for example, Diagio doesnt run any of the hundreds of companies it owns. Its simple business practice, EA do not run any of the companies that they own, to do so would be sheer foolishness.

I know how corporations/conglomerates work. But why are the developers’ employees getting fired or just plain leaving EA because of creative disagreements and quality issues if EA isn't running the developers business?

Why didn't you like the Red Alerts? Was it because it wasn't GDI versus NOD? If so, did you like the Tiberium Suns?

I own all of the C&C games. Red Alert was the first game I ever bought, although I did play C&C a good number of times prior to getting RA.
Red Alert was by far the best of the entire C&C series. Its the only C&C game I continue to play to this day.
RA2 and Generals were a massive disappointment in comparison.

I suspect C&C3 will be another disappointment too. Why? Because its EA.
But most of all, after RA1, the focus has been on superweapons and abilities - not tanks, jets, infantry and helicopters. They ruin the game, enabling a player to sit and build masses of defense and just destroy an enemy without even building a single fucking tank. Its pathetic.

I remember games of Red Alert comprising of massive tank battles with friends, with armies in the order of 100+ tanks per side on the PS. PC could handle even more. Add on jets, helicopters and all the infantry. Huge, colossal battles that were fun and required tactical thinking. Not just "nuke his base. End of game.".

In comparison to Generals - you get an award for building 20+ tanks in a round, 20 helicopters or 20 jets (those numbers are probably out by a little bit). But that doesnt matter. Hit em with 3 Particle Cannons, A10's, a Spectre and an MOAB. Game over. How boring.

Invalid. You can still crush a turtler with a proper rush. Join games that limit superweapons to 1.
