Any nerd worthy of MS-DOS and the 386/486 has undoubtedly played this, and is as disappointed as I that it was the first and only product of a discontinued line. But with today's computers and knowledge of space, wouldn't it be great to...you know...see Microsoft announce Space Simulator X? All the terrain data from their flight simulator combined with the imagery and telemetry of space! HELL YEAH!

No, not hardly. X³'s not a sim. It's an action title, therefore irrelevant by way of comparison. It's also way smaller than MS:SS. I haven't even been to every star system in that game yet.
