That's right these Benchmarks are FAKE!!

We realize that the technical specifications and requirements are a huge topic among our community and when we are prepared to give out our system spec recommendations, you will be the first to find out. Please treat everything you do not hear directly from us as speculation."
This statement by EA can be seen on...

"A Chinese site recently posted a supposed performance benchmark of Crysis running on a beefy system with 2 8800GTX graphics cards. This report is completely fake for more reasons than one. The main reason being that they used a physX card and indicated that the physX card was enabled in game which is an instant give away that this is fake as Crysis doesn't use Ageia physics.

Don't be fooled by all the different postings around the net, they all track back to the false Chinese article. I just wanted to clear this up after seeing 8 separate articles on many popular sites. "
My point?  Don't worry about your computer's specs after viewing these false benchmarks.  EA has previously said that an 8800GTX will run Crysis on Max setting w/ some AA/AF if the rest of your computer can handle it.  Although it is likely that your computer will need upgrading to play Crysis on reasonable settings with a reasonable FPS, it will not be as expensive as the article indicates.  Please stop using these benchmarks as reference to the level of technology a computer will require to play Crysis.  These benchmarks have already invaded other Crysis threads here and here.

So.... there are NO accurate Crysis benchmarks.  Just keep waiting...

lol I wish I could.  I got a 6800GT AGP on this computer right now.  Gonna get a whole new computer in September because my birthday is then and Crysis is expected to come out in September.

More importantly you should worry because the game has been pushed into 2008. Don't be so focused on one game that you miss all the other next gens coming out.

Aww you gotta be joking me...  '08 now?  I was all prepared to get a new comp specialized for Crysis in September....  Do you have a link that says this?  Not that I don't believe you, but I kinda don't wanna believe you.

EDIT: EB Games still says it's in September... Crysis

I actually wouldn't mind too much if it doesn't get released by '08.  Reason being, by then I'll be ready to upgrade to a whole new box.  I could do it sooner but dammit, my computer is only 2 years old.  It pisses me off that these things get so out of date so quick.

Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli expects that people with "two- to three-year-old" PCs will firmly enjoy Crysis despite its bias toward DirectX 10 and expensive graphics hardware, although he admits that he expects the developer to move fully to Vista in future.

The question is how do they define a 3 year old pc?  do they mean a top of the range spec PC 3 years ago or a standard crappy machine like mine?  also 2-3 years from now or when the game eventually surfaces

I've heard this too, but when they say "works on two-to-three year old PC's, I'm certain they mean on the lowest, lowest settings.  That takes away from the beauty of Crysis.  And I'm assuming they mean a mid-to-high range 2-3 year old PC, not a crappy one.

If it's anything like Far Cry, you better get as powerful a rig as you can.  The Far Cry XP64 version gave me serious advantage at draw distance when sniping.  I could literally snipe from one control point to the next.  You might be able to play Crysis on a 6800, but that 8800/NV600 sniper on the mountain across the river will pick you off while you are admiring the view.

Again you crush my dreams

Yeah i figured so although having recently played Rainbow six vegas at minimum specs it was still an amazing game to look at.  Just trying to brace myself for the fact I may not be able to afford the upgrade needed to play it at top settings
