I dont think the states has the most educated people, there drop out rate for highschool students is pretty high, i read that some where, and i have bin told by many people. And as for contributing to science and medicine, most scientist in North America come from other countries like holland, russia, germany and japan, becasue there is better equipment and labs for them, but it sucks for students. Most of their work is done in Universities, and that means they have to teach, and most dont speak english very well. Also they work togheter with other scientist from around the world, its a combined effort.Here, we like to use our minds. Our common sense, why not just say were all stupid ? thats exactly what youre saying ..america is the most educated nation on earth .. and we contribute more to medicine and science than the entire world combined and probably 10 thousand times more than the netherlands do .. so we use our minds here, thats a total assholish statement.
