trackmania nations

the game is completely free and features real time multiplayer of up to 40 players or so [i'm not sure of the exact number]

everyone drives the same car, so the only thing that determines the winner is pure skill.

you can, however, customize the way your car looks.

the game is very international, and it's a lot of fun representing your own country on the track.
Sounds good man, Ill dl and check it out!

I just played GTR2 and its not bad game ... but feels more arcade like than a realistic driving game (like Toca3).
Maybe not arcade like, just not as finite.

I didn't go through the whole game but it seems from what I see that GTR2 only has a certain class of races ... Toca3 has of track, offroad, go karts, lawn mowers, classic cars, etc. I also did not think it looked as good.

edit: Its not that far off, but to say it beats it every way, is totally false.

need for speed: hot pursuit, or if you want to go way back, you know back when EA made good games , need for speed: high stakes

Hot pursuit was the last good on in the series IMO ... before they started making every racing game The Fast and the Furiousified.

If you want something more realistic then go pc, GTR2, Gt Legends, rFactor, NetKarPro. These are probably the pick of the crop for road racing and for rally go for RBR ( Richard Burns Rally ) which is the best rally sim to drive.

And here is a great add on site for rFactor, requires reg but well worth it if you have the game, just about everything is listed there and has dl links. Enjoy!

PS: Quite a few of these games need further editing of .plr file in your profile to really get the best out of it. GTR2 by default tends to leave some assists on that will make it feel very arcade and also they may be running in a mode other than simulation. You might want to check what mode it is running in as this will make a big difference to how the game responds. Happy laps.

Also forgot to add this place, pretty much all you would ever need to know about racing simulations. What's available, how good it is and what add ons you can get. If you're into racing on a pc then you will be wanting to visit RSCNET regular to get a fix.
