If anyone else has this game, please add me on Xfire: rootbeer77. I am freaking terrible at this game, and I need some tips/pointers/tactics/practice and just plain help. I can't even beat the computer in skirmish mode on the fricking normal difficulty. No matter who I'm playing, the opponent always has 2830141078410 tanks assaulting all of my guys at one time, and I have one squad trying to take out one tank at a time with a satchel charge or sticky gernade and then it goes: "NOT ENOUGH MUNITIONS!!111!111!!" I mean come on, half the time I didn't have the resources for a recon scan. And this happens regardless of what team I am playing for. Granted, I am a newbie and the only time I do well is when I play the other newbies that think: "ZOMGSs YAYZ COH TIME 2 PlaY MultiIPLAYERZ ONLINE AND PWN NUBS, WTH IM GETTIN OWNZD?!!!?," and they haven't even played single player mode yet. The campaign is fairly easy, but I progress through it slowly, so I guess I'm just pretty bad. Despite all of the above, CoH is an awsome game and is the best RTS I have ever played. Followed closely by Star Wars: Gallactic Battlegrounds Saga, Clone Campaigns lol (Yes, I only have two RTS games which might also be why I'm not good at them). Anyways, just add me on Xfire if you have CoH and maybe you can help me get better. Maybe.
EDIT: TRIPLE POST DELETED. Sorry my bad. My internet froze for a few minutes. :(.

lol no way... I beat the comp on Extreme.

Take terrritory. Build defences. Enemy will counter you. Hold. Build up more men. Move forward. Take terrritory. Build defences. Enemy will counter you. Hold. Build up more men. Move forward.

Thats about it at the start. Then get some 88's or M26 disipline.

Panthers or Shermans, get 5 tanks, charge. Winzor.

AHAHAHA what the hell did you do?!?  Block in your allies and prevent movement or something?  I'll be honest though, I suck horribly at these strategy type games.  CoH is really fun even though I suck horribly.  I enjoy the game even when I get owned.  Although, I have beaten the game on normal and have all but two awards from the campaign.  I probably suck at this game because I'm not too aggressive.  I usually build a decent defense around my HQ and then try to build up a large force (I usually don't have the resources to make anything spectacular and normally get ransacked before I even know it).  The only reason I beat the campaign on normal is probably because most of the missions require you to assault a fixed defensive position without ever having your HQ attacked.  We should practice together.  I haven't logged on to that game too much after it came out, but my screen name or whatever is Mike_J I believe.  I'll go check and if it's different I'll let you know.

CoH, you need perseverance to get any good at it so it's good for wasting time unlike Vegas which just bores after a couple of days.

You're right about resources being hard to come by and the maximum army size being pathetic. The imperfect "run to cover" AI of your units just isn't enough to compensate for all the micromanagement you are required to do all across a battlefield. If Patton had to manage units as you do in CoH, he'd have thrown up his arms in defeat. I corrected this development error (in my opinion) by using a unit max increase mod for skirmishing, but I've never really developed a non-mod counter for the computer's uncanny ability to retake points that are unguarded, or overwhelm you on all fronts, going completely around your meager handful of units while you're slowly stretching your built-up defenses across the map. I find myself playing musical flags more than I get to see any combat (short of base assault/defense).

While Dawn of War isn't as technically advanced, it succeeds more as an RTS simply due to its fun factor.

Jesus, from the mouth of a n00b or what.

1. Resources are easy to come by, you just need to know which ones to get.

2.
           a) If the army size was any bigger your computer would explode into little fragments and dance around in your dreams laughing at you because you now have no computer.
           b) This isn't just a "spam as much as you can" RTS, it's more tactical and you have to actually think, i know it's hard for you to comprehend, but this is incorporated into CoH.

3. If you're too lazy to micro, don't.  If you wanna learn, you will.  I didn't know what micro was before I started playing this game.  If Patton was having to micro his units, Rommel would have been having to do the same so it would be equal.

4. The easy setting would be more suitable for you.
