Finally got Fraps a few days ago, been collecting clips since then and here's the result. Video is 4:49 long, in three sections, just showing a few aspects of sniping in SF.

If you want to watch it make sure the volume's not too low as some of the music is quiet.

Where he's going to, normally (leading the target, not trailing).

There are 15. God I hate that YouTube mangles the quality so much that it's hard to see the hit indicator.

All of the shots in the first section, after *sigh* but before the music changes to Journey, are misses. That's the whole point of the video, to show the full range: from dead-on shots that don't hit, scope lag (although it's not nearly as obvious in recordings as it is in person), pauses, "Hey, lookit, I can't hit a barn door!" through to the good stuff at the end when everything comes together.

I'd post the full-size .AVI somewhere but it's 1.02 GB

1st, greatest "ending message" in a sniper video EVER! I love it when they do that
Some great shots, seemed like the shots got better the longer the video went (the second half of it at least), definitely think I'm gonna try that shoot & crouch thing you do. I know your supposed to move around after taking a couple shots but sometimes you just can't & I think that might prolong being spotted for as long as possible.

Streaming video is sucky sometimes.

Anyways, you can download the original .MP4 file from the link in post #8. So no streaming and better quality.

very nice vid! but! big minus for not having the SVD in it, you really should try it on warlord, it is much better there than the m95 is..

Not in my hands it ain't! LOL

And quite frankly I've never met an SVD user in-game that was really competing in terms of lethality... aimbot users excepted.

Very good video Todd! That bad things with the crappy hit detection...I've experienced this like you more than enough where you (would!!) have a 100% hit and nothing happens.
But sniping is still so much fun on Warlord or Ghost Town (laying in the tower in the middle of the map and shoot some guys out of their choppers while they want to start!) isn't it?!

yea the rubber bullet . i hate it i shoot someone in the face and it just does a yellow smoke no damage done

Watch the whole thing through to the end would ya?

Download it from Filefront, then it'll be easier to get the point of the three sections (since you'll be able to see the hit indication when it is there, and when it's not). It's a little under five minutes, nothing too long and boring I assure you.
