Man that was fun... A remake would be amazing... I still find myself trying to play that every now and then
The empire is on verge of success.
Yeah, an remake would be nice.

What are you people talking about?
Ahhhh....my first flight-sim-ish game. I loved that game.
Even the other two weren't too bad.

Ahhhhh, those were the days.
I was playing TIE fighter (the 3DFX enhanced version) a few months ago, it's still just as great as ever.

tie fighting is hard core!
Many hours wasted playing those awesome games!, i loved em!
Off topic, how about a Star Wars mod for BF2? (Battlefront doesn't count, I didn't think it was done well.
I remember it well. My first game on the PC (along with "Sam 'n' Max Hit the road").
Great stuff.

I hope that they make one, it would sell platinum in no time!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I still play X-wing Alliance at LAN parties.
We alternate it with marathons of Star Trek Bridge Commander. I think we qualify as heretics.

there is one being created for 2142 because of the walkers, they use the walkers coding to make AT-STs and AT-ATs, also it would be easier to make the starships because of the titans and the gunships.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

You, sir, are obviously not a classic PC gamer.loonitic wrote:

LucasArts - http://lucasarts.com/products/windows/classics.htm
There are three related games here. X-Wing Alliance, TIE Fighter and X-Wing vs TIE Fighter. X-Wing was good, TIE Fighter was awesome, and X-Wing vs TIE Fighter sadly never really took off (in my opinion). Everybody loves playing the bad guy, but strangely LucasArts decided to divorce themselves from this classic by not even listing it on their classics sheet. WTF LA?!
TIE Fighter CD was a good long game with lengthy missions involving shooting down more fighters than the Rebel Alliance should've had to offer with less TIE support than the Empire would've offered, but it was all in good fun. You even got medals from the Empire, and other less-obvious awards for 'special services' to the Empire (bonus objectives). You even get to escort the Emperor's shuttle in one of the missions (though it automatically aborts if you blow it up ).
Grab the demo, or pick up a copy from a bargain bin for $3.
If they went back to Star Wars classic just long enough to release TIE Fighter 2, I would be so happy. It's just too bad LucasArts seems too preoccupied with prequel merchandising at the moment.Ubersturmbannfuhrer wrote:

Bridge Commander is another great. I was so disappointed that Star Trek: Legacy failed to implement any of the good aspects from either BC or Star Trek: Armada II...instead becoming a mindless feast of brainless gameplay and non-functional control.Skorpy-chan wrote:

Heh, I just dug out my copy of Tie fighter and started playing again... man that game really is addicting... Ah, the games of the good ole days.... I remeber Tie Fighter, Doom, Rebel Assault (Which was like the most amazing thing at the time because it had film footage in it), and Hugo's House of Horror's trilogy.... Thats back when video games were still fun.....although i have to admit, bf2 is pretty good
I still have my X-Wing Alliance CD in my desk.
HUGO! I'd karma you again, but I'm maxed.Phantasm wrote:

If you got 2142 your prayers are being, a Star Wars mod called first strike is well under way. As of present time the team is creating the models for building and vehicles. Should be cool.Flaming_Maniac wrote:
