I'm just wondering but, my Pc can't have PCI cards because it doesn't have a PCI slot. I only have a AGP slot, and thats why i brought a 6800 GT, thats the biggest card out there for a AGP. I could of brought the 7800 GT for only 40 dollers more if I had a PCI slot. Anyone know of Nvidia are going to have 7800 with only a AGP slot instead of a PCI soon?
No.

just need to buy the 6800GT AGP one
Doubtful. AGP is quickly becoming outdated and nVidia knows it. That's why they won't make any AGP 7800's. They are trying to make the transition to PCI-e as quickly as possible.
Also if you have an HP I hope you haven't messed with it at all. By even opening the case you void the warrenty.

buying PCs from HP, Dell and stuff are gay, theyre queer and rip you off
It won't come
and never will

yea, what youre really looking for is a PCI-Express 16 Slot, not plain PCI
can i add one or have to get a new motherboard?
You'll have to get a new motherboard.smokingun wrote:

Just out of curiosity, what are your specs? Is it worth just buying a new mobo to get a new gfx card?
My specs.
AMD Athlon(tm) 2800+ (2.08 GHz)
(BFG Tech) Nvidia 6800 GT OC overclocked 256MB
1 GB DDR ram
Windows XP
80GB hard drive
im just worried that my computer will be outdated in like less than 2 years

A 2800+? Half a Year Old? Wow! HP Does Suck!
you bought from HP ... there not for gaming and never will be no mater what they try to sell you
buy something like alienware
or build your own (best choice)
oh and to set your mind at ease
your computer IS out dated (not trying to sound like an ass but)
its was already 2 years old when you bought

*sigh* When I bought my pc (compaq) it had a 2 year old gfx card in it! Wish I'd known then what I do now.
well, not many companies are making AGP cards anymore hence the higher prices (if you've researched on online sites) and PCIE is the future. As many others have stated, it wont come in an AGP form... By the way, your configuration isn't SO bad, just figure out a way to break open that BIOS on your HP and overclock your 2800... my friend has an HP and cant seem to get the bios to allow him to OC...
