Knights of the Old Republic and Knights of the Old Republic 2 are pretty much the only RPGs I can stand.
Every other one makes me a little bit sick.
So yeah try them out. Hours and hours and hours of gameplay involved. And each is worth at least two replays (especially KOTOR2... I figured out only on my second time through that you could train certain non jedi party members to be jedi)

Skorpy is on to something though with his list, If you dont mind oldies Deus Ex is as good as they come
and with a 3rd one coming out this year you should check it out. Anyone who claims to be a gamer has
to play that game. One of the best SP ever and what a story!

Played the Kotors, might try Fallout series or Deus Ex

Why not start from the beginning with Baldur's Gate "the original saga"? IMO still the best RPG of all time. Ice Wind Dale might also be worth trying and what I played of Ice Wind Dale II (which wasn't much) was good, except I personally really dislike AD&D third edition rules so never really got into the game.djphetal wrote:

The only RPG I've ever bothered to play was FF10 (oh wait and Pokemon Red when I was like 10 or something), even then it felt like I was playing an interactive film rather than a game. And I HATE RANDOM ENCOUNTERS.
And can't they ever make an RPG that's realistic. None of that magic/elves/sci-fi/wizard/orc shit. Is there a realistic or realistic/historical RPG out there?
