I'm looking for a game similar to Ace Combat, but for the PC.

Any suggestions?

That looks cool, they even have a new game out on the site. Flaming war or something. Too bad the graphics are not that good.

far too confusing a game for someone who wants an ace combat style game.

Lol i noticed that with the demo.

I picked up the su-34 and started flying. Heard the lock tone, dropped flares, did nothing, still got shot down...by a J-10

Not to mention I couldn't fly worth shit.

Maybe an arcade fighter is what I'm looking for.

You can turn easy flight on in Lock-On so you don't stall.

I was reading PC Zone and I saw this sick game I think it's called Air Combat but from the little article I read it seems to be a Tom Clancy game and the screenshot looked amazing

Clearly the person who recommended Lock On hasn't played Ace-Combat, or Lock On...

I remember asking the same question awhile back. To be blunt, there really isn't many fun flying games out there. By fun I mean arcade/pick up and play style games. They're all hardcore sims.

Lock-On has the mission editor, though. You can't argue with being able to carpet bomb T-80's in Sevastopol. You just can't.

That implies you can figure out how to get the plane to fly straight for more than 10 seconds.  I love flight sims, especially when they're more sim than arcade, but Lock On just left me in the dark.  The best game I played was Jane's F/A-18.

Too bad EA can't make an air combat game KINDA like BF2.

Only with fixed hitboxes, better balancing issues.

I like the way BF2 air combat works, alot of people say it's not realistic, but it's fun.  Well, has the potential to be really fun.

I did it the first time I flew. You can always turn on easy flight so you never crash.

If you're looking for arcade shooters on the pc the only decent ones are:

Heroes of the pacific
Blazing angels I and II
Snoopy and the red baron (yes bitches you read it right:lol:)

Otherwise stick to consoles for these type of games.

I just downloaded the demo for Blazing Angels. It's actually quite a fun damn game. It's WW2 so it's strictly guns and bombs, but it's got a good arcade element to it and the graphics are nice. It ran nicely with all bells and whistles on my 7600GS.

Try out the demo. Not a bad game. Definitely not a sim, but it was fun. Controls might take some getting used to, unless you got a joystick.
