Bull shit, some of the best games come out for the PC. Bf2 was a fiasco on the xbox, but on the PC, its going strong as always.
CoD4 will most likely be for PC, and be designed with the PC in mind. And you're not bursting any bubbles, so you can shove your arrogant opinion up your arse.

Lol, don't get me wrong. I love the PC.  But the fact is that the money is not in PC games right now.  My opinion was well thought out and is based around fact.

Did this remind anyone else of Bad Company? I mean, it seems there's less "army v. army" and more personal rivalry in the vid.

The bright light about COD4 is that the game probably will support DirectX 10, which means. . . .

That infinity ward would need to see how stable it is on the pc first, before porting it over to the consoles. Due to the fact that consoles dont have the horsepower that the pc has.

Its hard to say really due to the fact that all we have is the trailer.  We know that the game will be on the 360, PS3, and PC, and thats it!  We dont have any developers saying that the pc version is ported from the console at all! So all that we are doing is speculating. . . .I think that do to the fact that the consoles will provide bigger sales, reality says we will get a ported pc game.  We shall see, but I would love to have the pc version first, and have that version ported to the consoles, not vice versa.

You already made that obvious in a previous post... and I can tell you one thing... as much I like the BF series, it never matches the awesomeness of CoD. At least CoD isn't made by EA (you've gotta give me that).

I just checked out the planet call of duty website. . . .

Apparently the game is going to be released fall 07' and is released on the PC first.  However, they havent ruled out subsequent releases for the consoles as well.  It only seems logical that they would release the game for the consoles too, as the COD francise is golden!

Well if its scheduled for PC first then chances it'll be like the original CoD.
In which case I'm going to say AWESOME!

Sorry to burst any bubbles.
It was announced that this would be released first on PC, no?

Anyway, a brilliant game, but don't expect it to be bug-free or ass-hat free. COD2 (the last game I played) was a debacle - for two months, there was no PB. Guess what happened. Expect lots of very suss shots anyway, it's very easy in CoD.

Good question, but the phasing out of rifles mean there's some serious readjusting/rebalancing to do.

Spark and I can speak from experience about how the CoD series has gone about.  I think if IW goes to the trouble of balancing weapons, as they did in the first game, the 4th will be another hit online.  Most console players couldnt give a rats ass as to whether or not weapons are balanced, however, we PC gamers know that it can make or break the game.  An example would be CoD2... piss poor balancing, and online was shit.  Also, there was a sevre lack of support, as Spark said.  No PB support, no custom maps, nothing.

So, in my view, it all comes down to how they polish the game.  We know they can make pretty-looking games, but its the content and gameplay specifics that make a game worth playing in the end.  Hopefully, the modern assault rifle will help in balancing, and therefore, make the game better, both in the campaign and online.  Or, maybe not.  We'll have to see....

Nope

What ppl dont realize is that even tho WW2 games have been around for the past few years, modern combat is still more cliche, at least with FPS.

Id like to see a really well made FPS about Vietnam.  Battlefield did pretty well, but theres so much room for improvement its uncanny.  Call of Duty - Vietnam would be cool as hell

The problem with such a shooter would be getting people to operate by those tactics. WW1's doable, but I've yet to see a successful civil war shooter...though if anyone could do it, it'd be the CoD team. Until then, I'll be happy with Call of Juarez.

i got that history channel "The civil war"  on the 360.  i liked it, but you gotta really be a civil war buff to enjoy that game.  and even then it was more of an arcade shooter

Multiplayer
Call of Duty multiplayer on the PC received a lot of praise, but Infinity Ward wanted to try something different for COD 4. While the Kill Cam is back, you're no longer just an anonymous soldier running around the online battlefield. Modern Warfare has a Halo-like party system and introduces a new class-based system to the franchise. Before you moan about medics tossing out health packs and engineers fixing fences, know the COD 4 is doing its class system in a unique way.
Source
Each class is defined by three perks. Some of the perks are fairly straightforward. Dead Silence lets you walk without making a sound; GPS Jammer keeps you from showing on radar. But there are also some unique and very interesting perks to compliment the standards. The one that seems certain to pique the interest of many gamers is Last Stand. When you take enough damage that you should be dead, you won't fall to the ground. Instead, you pull out your pistol and have a full clip to fire before shuffling off this mortal coil (unless someone pops you). You can't keep yourself from dying, but you might be able to take someone with you. Or, you can choose the "coward's way out" by holding down a button and take your own life to deny your opponent a full kill.
Some of the other base classes include Assault, Heavy Gunner, Spec Ops, and Demo. The class you choose also determines your primary weapon (and attachments), side arm, and special grenade.
Here's what made me sad.
Infinity Ward decided to do away with vehicles in the multiplayer. While this might kill your hopes for a "Tank Girl" class, COD4 multiplayer is likely better off without vehicles and the limitations they can bring.
In other words, IW didn't want to bother making a PC CoD4 and a console (read noob) CoD4 for the others.
BF killer my ass. At least EA doesn't make consolized ports that are total crap on the PC. Not for BF anyway.
