That mission took me nearly four hours and five play throughs to figure out. The pilots are dumbfucks

When I want my guys to move quick I tell them to hold fire. Even on normal mode it took me a few go's to get through though. Kept getting engaged by the PLA because it took the pilots and my guys so long to leave the house.

Yeah, hardcore can be a little bitch, even though it´s the most funnest mode.
But no savepoint at all is a bit shitty. At least give hardcore 1 free savegame so you can use it
let´s say in the middle of a mission or whatever.
Hitman had a much better solution. The harder the difficulty, the less savegames you get.
I just started the second mission moved through primary 1st and secondary 1st and 2nd plus bonus targets
Approached primary 2nd and caught a stray bullet to the head.
All over again from the start, really, really frustrating.

One the other hand... it´s probably called "hardcore" for a reason.

The Beach Assault was a real bitch to play, especially with the EOTech sight for long range. Ended up using PLA marksman rifles and the Queen Bee to take out the troops in the village at times. Sucks as well because last night on Powder Trail, I managed to get right up to an AA site, took out one PGZ, then got toasted by a gunship.

However, hardcore is the most fun to play. Certainly gets the old heart racing at times.

You know there is a CQC M4 and a marksman M4 down by the beach when you start off, right ?

Another thing that bugs me by the way: Why can´t we have a loadout menu before each mission ?
Give me a mission description and I choose my own weapons. Maybe even camo and armor.
That would have been cool and sim-like.

I'm torn on this game. On normal difficulty, I am annoyed by the fact that it can take 4-5 shots to kill an enemy. Is this any different on hardcore mode?

OFP1 never guaranteed a one-shot kill. If you hit someone in the head, they will go down.
