Ah yes, just to add some spice to discussions of players griefing in games:

Slave morality begins in a ressentiment that turns creative and gives birth to values. (Ressentiment was a term coined by Nietzsche to describe the feeling of the weak, unhealthy and ugly towards those who have fared better in life.) The slave regards the virtues of beauty, power, strength and wealth as 'evil' in an act of revenge against those who have them in abundance. (On the Genealogy of Morals, First Essay, Section 10) Slave morality is therefore a reactionary morality because 'good' does not spring creatively from the individual but develops as a negation of the values of the powerful. The noble person conceives of goodness first and later determines what is 'bad' while the slave conceives of 'evil' first and fashions his own conception of 'good' in opposition to this.

Good is a concept created by people to explain what is considered morally acceptable and something to be encouraged.

eg - Teaching those around you so they might gain knowledge.

Wow, that's inciteful. I don't think that's the main reason griefers do what they do. I believe their reasons are much simpler.

So, can a person be born good or evil? Or is his behavorial pattern shaped by his environment and the prejudices that surrounds it.

Which moral law will we be using to determine whether something is good or not?

I don't get it.
The paradox is only a conflict between reality and your feeling what reality ought to be.

The above quote doesn't attempt to craft a law that is moral, it simply says that we create our moral laws and decide what is good and evil based on experience and our situations.

I'm not implying that it does. If we are going to have a discussion about good and evil we will need an objective moral value to establish what is good and evil.

eg - Some people believe it is good to have sex with children, and some people believe that this is evil. Who is right, and why?

But thats exactly the point, that good and evil are relative. I doubt Hitler believed what he was doing was evil.

People who slept with kids, are sick. There's a chemical imbalance in there brain or some deep underlying physiological condition.

Cheers

If good and evil are relative, then how can you judge a person's actions to be good or evil? If Hitler and Nazi Germany decided that what they were doing was right and good, then who are you to say that they were wrong?

You can't have both, you can't believe in moral relativity and then turn around and judge something or someone to be good or evil. When you say something is good you automatically assume a moral law that confirms this. Otherwise you are just stating your opinion.

Oh stop, you said what Hitler did was evil and that child molesters were sick. I don't agree with the child molesters being sick statement, I think perverse would be a better description. Sick people don't hide what they do from the public because of there shame, but evil people do. Child molesters make a conscious effort and decision to abuse children despite what there own conscience is telling them. Most of them were victims of the same type of abuse that they are perpetrating. When they become adults they are responsible for there actions, they are not victims anymore.

That is easy.  You use the value system of the culture powerful enough to MAKE you.  Might Makes Right is a concept that has been used through the history of humanity.  Don't like that one?  How about "History is written by the winners?"
