Hi there. Been playing BF2 for awhile, and I've always noticed that in some maps when I'm playing online(especially Karkand unfortunately) where theres alot of smoke or fog (or for example if I'm running behind a tank trying to repair it because some asshat took off with it after I got out) my FPS drops and it gets difficult to respond if, say, I come under attack suddenly. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for eliminating or reducing the effects. I already have all my settings set to Low or Off except for Textures, which is set to Medium. Anti-aliasing (which is what I was told helps handle smoke/fog) is set to Off as well.
Currently i'm running a 2.66 gHz, Windows XP HE, 1gig ram, GeForce FX5200 (yes, yes, I need to upgrade, I know [ironically enough I've only had it a few months], but theres still rent that has to be paid ), on a cable modem. Any constructive ideas or suggestions would be very helpful. Thank you for your time and patience.
