Operation Flashpoint can fuck off number 2 was shite. No dedicated servers made online unplayable and overall it was just a shit game.
Multi lagged like SHIT. I live in the northwest lower 48 and I couldn't play on servers based in Portland or Seattle, let alone do two-player coop with a buddy in CANADA. So we went back to BF2 for awhile.

Maybe they didn't set it to max for that group of screenshots. At any rate, it didn't affect my 9600GT one way or the other.

Really? I got it release day, played it and didn't see any noticeable bugs, at least not great enough for me to think of any right now in any way.

very interesting when you order by rank to see, by and large, what pc gamers are actually playing

I hadnt looked at that for probably a year or so, it is interesting to see what is different and what isn't. CS:S is a lot lower but that could be due to Steam being much more social and heavy steam users just dropping xfire completely.

I havn´t played it myself after the horrid game ArmA was. I read a lot about it though and throughout the board lots of bugs were reported. They did a good job on patching it, heard it was playable now.

Do many people even use xfire anymore? I haven't launched it in years.

it's autolaunch at start-up for me. fairly unobtrusive background program. barely use it. had a corporate takeover and started to suck dick, afaik.

steam isn't the be-all-and-end-all for everything. the cod1/cod2 community will always be on xfire-- it grew with it and it became indispensable for clan-matches and arranging league fixtures. cod2 is actually still played by a huge number of people; but you're right, they don't use steam... why would they? if you want an active measure of steam games, they have their own global stats.

Never really had a use for it, except for when someone refused to use anything else to talk.

That xfire stats thing is obviously more "What xfire users are playing", not "PC Gamers" in general.

tbh the only major changes would perhaps be a reshuffling of call of duty (the newer games being more popular than they seem, cod2 perhaps less influential than the aged community makes out) and with world of warcraft and starcraft 2 having about 10x more time racked up than xfire shows. wow has been absolute top for about 4-5 years straight, without conceding the top-spot for a single day to any other game... no matter how hyped and/or popular upon launch. crazy. perhaps tf2 and the other steam games would be a little higher, too... but not much.

bit of a fad really, isn't it? yes a huge internet sensation but definitely nowhere near as popular as warcraft. also, we're talking hours played as much as we're talking 'total players'. if you think people, all in all, cumulatively spend as much time on minecraft as they do on world of warcraft then you're crazy. i expect people spend more time over a 6 month period on their casual fps games than they do over their 4-week love affair with shitty minecraft.
