more like none once you got a proper one (~level V aswell)... or added a kinetic coil mod...

Oh I seeeee.

Sorry misunderstood.

Well yes, by the time I had a Level 60 character, I could basically fire forever as well. But it took a while to get to that stage, and I felt by then I deserved it.

That Hammerhead DLC has been rumored to have a price tag around 800 - 1200 msp.

But they specifically said it would be free..

"EA confirmed to Kotaku today that the previously announced Hammerhead hover tank will also be a Cerberus offering, free to those who have joined the Network."

Yeah, that's what they said and it better be cause I aint paying a dime for that stuff.
The future will bring a ton of DLC for this game and we might end up with a 100 dollar game for all we know.

I was a little into the last bar of renegade, and it didn't give me the option.
I´m about to go on that mission soon, I shall see it myself then.
Confrimed. Just been there yesterday night. I´m almost four/fifth full Renegade, got the first renegade conversation option, but couldn´t use the second, had to go with the marbl garbl. The game then "chose for me", the Paragon way. Meh.

I loaded and will delay that mission until I reach full Renegade. Pain in the ass. Seems to be a lot harder, since you get less points per action it seems.

HMMV X pistol with HE rounds and two frictionless barrels with marksman was pretty sweet. Allowed you to fire pretty fast without overheating using HE round which are just badass.

Then there was the usual/boring tungsten/shredder + scram rails + marksman. Just constant fire, marksman refreshes before it ends with the right gear l0l and it hits for a lot with those mods.

Writing that just made me remember how much better the ME1 system was. So much more customization.

wtb best of both games in me3.

I reckon a lot of Mass Effect 1 customisation was pointless weapon/equipment micromanaging. Personally I didn't bother with a lot of it and picking up all the shit just made it difficult when I had to omnigel my inventory to fit some decent shit in later. Tedious.

However, as Mass Effect 2 is still technically a RPG game I will say that they maybe went too far in removing that kind of stuff. Personally I don't care but I see why people would. I like it the way it is, (wouldn't mind a few more options in weapons and armour bits I suppose,) but maybe BioWare could work out the balance a bit and get it in a good middle ground for the next installment to please everyone.

I am not trying to be a ME1 fanboy or a dick here. But I am curious about the "inventory always full" complaints I see a lot. On a character that I was going through my third playthrough with I still was never converting stuff to omni gel really. Other than the weapons/mods/armour myself and my squad was wearing I would keep 1 of each weapon mod and then sell everything else. I never ran out of gel or money (obviously a lot of the selling was at 0 profit as I had the max amount of money). I mean 150 items is a huge inventory, I just dont see how it can be "always full". I played as an infiltrator, so I was opening every single crate as well.

I appreciate that people like different things and I am not saying anyone is wrong here. I just hate how so many franchises that arent RTS gradually turn into first or third person shooters with a token "stats" system.

Fallout series -> TPS with stats

TES series -> TPS with stats

ME series -> the original was obviously very TPS already, I am not denying that. ME2 was much less RPG though.

I know there are exceptions (eg. DA:O, KOTOR series).

I prefer the ME2 system tbh, although the old system was ok. It was just annoying that the menu to manage the inventory and selling was so clumsy. I had to scroll up and down to see whether I had a Tungsten Round V so I could sell teh IV one. Same with armor and weapons. Paired with the fact that you get swamped with loot even if you´re unable to open every crate, it gets tedious really fast.

The ME2 system just lacks diversity. 2-3 weapons to choose from for each type is too little. I do hope for more DLC though, as they did with the shotgun.

Speaking of which I tried using that Cerberus shotgun and it was completely useless. It had a 3 round clip with a long delay between shots, and a pitiful amount of backup ammo. It just seems flat out worse than the assault shotgun.

They really just went from one extreme to the other with the inventory system.  Before, it was having an ungodly amount of the same ammo type or upgrade, imo, it worked just fine but buying and selling in stores was a pain in the ass (and the omni gel thing of course).  It took a while for me to get figure it out, when I did, I enjoyed the game even more.

Now it seems they tried to appease people who thought it was confusing and threw the system away entirely.  ME 2 is freakin awesome, and the ONE thing keeping it from being perfect is the fact that there isnt just a bad inventory system, there is NO system at all.

I mean, come on, I'm paying money to "unlock" research which I will then have to "buy" with resources?  On top of all of that, the selection of items in the game is a joke, too.  At most, 4 different assault rifles.  Wow....

I think I saw someone post it before, it really is more like a third person shooter with a little exploration thrown in rather than a true RPG.  Oh well.

"ME1's Mako controls sucked"

"Get rid of the Mako in ME2!"

"ME1's inventory sucked"

"No inventory in ME2"

It's also quite a shock that the ME1 inventory sucked so much, Bioware are RPG veterans who made some really intuitive inventories. And considering how prefect the inventory was in Dragon Age, it kinda makes me annoyed that they just completely scrapped it for ME2.

But either way ME2 is the better game.

welll. IMO Fallout got a lot worse, TES got worse in some aspects and better in others, and ME got better in general.

I'm with you that the singleplayer RPG is dying, which is a catastrophe, because my favourite games of all time are all FPSRPGS.

Just look at the change from SS2 to Bioshock, Bioshock hardly has any RPG elements left in it.

Developers dumbing it down to appeal to a greater audience to make more money etc.

We really need more developers that are more dedicated to their passion for games than their wallets... I bet blizzard will manage to screw up Diablo III, unless it comes bundled with Duke Nukem Forever that is...

tl;dr I predict opensource/indie games becoming the brute force of innovation in the gaming industry... just look at Portal, started as an idea by a Indie dev. and valve picked up the talent. Just like they did with Icefrog (The creator of DOTA for WC3)
