Ok I've searched on this already but to no avail. I'm trying to some of my own little BF2 vids, but here's the problem I'm having. Here is the sequence of events so far:

1. Created local server
2. Started recording with the following console command - demo.recordDemo Test1
3. Screwed around a bit to get some footage
4. Stopped recording with - demo.stopRecording
5. Disconnected from the local server I created
6. Went to the community tab to load and view the file
7. File wasn't there in the community tab
8. Went into the BF2 root directory -C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\xpack\Demos - the files     were there but aren't showing up to where I can view them..

What gives here? I have FRAPS which I was going to record the playback with and then edit that with Sony Vegas 6. I can't get past the second step which is playing back the file that I just recorded. Can someone please help me with this? I have the game patched to the 1.4. Could 1.4 be causing the problem?

you have to place your bf2demo and bf2cam files in

C:\Documents and Settings\Your User\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\Demos

if the folder demos isnt there just create it and place em in there

should solve your problem

Thanks....I'll give it a shot...one other quick question, are there any keyboard commands for the BattleRose (not sure if that's what it's really called) so it doesn't pop up and ruin a video?

yes the commands for the battlerose are as follows

Q – opens the Playback Rose. Move the mouse to highlight the desired playback option and press the Left Mouse Button to select. Options available here that are not bound to separate keys include "Restart" and "Quit".

T – opens the Camera Rose. Choose the camera option or cycle through the available players.
1 – Pause the playback (also available in the Playback Rose).
2 – Playback recorded session at normal speed (also available in the Playback Rose).
3 – Playback recorded session at 5% of normal speed (also available in the Playback Rose).
4 – Playback recorded session at 25% of normal speed (also available in the Playback Rose).
5 – Playback recorded session at 50% of normal speed (also available in the Playback Rose).
6 – Playback recorded session at normal speed (also available in the Playback Rose).
7 – Playback recorded session at 150% of normal speed (also available in the Playback Rose).
8 – Playback recorded session at 300% of normal speed (also available in the Playback Rose).

Spacebar – cycle between players.

Right Mouse Button – cycle between free camera and player camera.

Mouse wheel – zoom camera in and out when locked onto a player.

W, A, S, D, Ctrl and Shift – move free camera around map, forward, left, backwards, right, down and up.

Mouse look – aim free camera.
