I had this problem right after I reinstalled BF2. Whenever I start up BF2, even with the 'start maximized' option enabled, it minimizes. Even when forcing a resolution I know my system supports, 1280 x 1024 by the cmd line, it still starts up minimized.

What happens when you run the actuall exe file (bf2.exe)?
Same thing happens. This is really fucking annoying.
Also, when I am able to start it up (only SF will start), this is what I see. No images at all.
Im a big fan of clean slates. Uninstall/reinstall? simple, and ultimate.
NOTE: if you have any booster packs, don't do this. TO get EA's sweet Downloader to first work and then properly download the boosters is a BITCH. don't erase.

Have already reinstalled BF2. I don't have any booster packs (EF or AF), just the SF expansion. I will try the reinstall again tomorrow. I have no idea what the hell is up with the images not showing.
