Zero interest in attending one of those gladiatorial melees where people literally get killed over toaster ovens that are still, even on sale, three digits plus percent more expensive than they are to manufacture.

With online ordering so common now, the attraction must be in getting to punch someone in the face for a Playstation.

When I wanted one of the perpetually rare Nintendos, I just waited until I got a notification that a game store had them in stock, then drove down and bought it. Two other people were in the store and didn't even send one covetous glance in my direction.

lens arrived. looks pristine. seems the case doesnt come with a key, didnt know about that but meh even though that means its locked open. smells like smoker too

Pretty much the same as the TG3 with a better sensor and worse user interface.

I would have thought GPS on/off would be the least used function of them all, but no, that merits a mechanical switch.

Actually useful functions are hidden behind multiple non-sensical button pushes, flipping from optical to digital zoom was done by just continuing to hold the zoom lever, now its a different button and jumps in steps not continuous, requiring jumping backwards and forwards between optical and digital zoom to get framing right.

There's a whole extra dial which seems to do nothing that two buttons didn't already do.

Very weird and I'm sure it will make me angry, which is a shame because the intention of buying the thing was to reduce my general anger level and save time at work taking photos and videos - IT blocking any means of transferring photos from personal devices except email and the company not providing useful cameras. Or they do but the batteries are dead, the memory cards are full and the USB cables are long gone.
This thing is now whitelisted on the network, apparently.
At least the macro photography - which is why i bought it - is amazing.
I decided decades ago to extend my sanity by just using my own camera, not spending my day

Looking for the camera
Looking for the charger
Looking for the USB cable
Asking who the photos belonged to and which photos could be safely deleted
etc

A snow foam lance. Which didn't work very well because my decade old karcher pressure washer doesn't have much more pressure than the garden hose pipe.

I backed a project on Kickstarter for a wallet made from coffee-based leather.  I'm due for a new wallet soon anyway so it would be pretty neat if this one was quality.

I bought tickets to the Shen Yun show for my Chinese girlfriend. She said the whole crowd will be "American guys with their Asian girlfriends." Apparently Chinese people see this on their T.V. all the time. It is nothing special to them.

I know the whole cult part of it. I am talking about the type of performances. They do the same type of performances for Chinese New Year and all that other stuff just without the the anticommunist propaganda the Falun Gong people use.

It is kind of like having a rodeo show in Saudi Arabia and saying it is a fancy traditional American whatever.

The average farmer euthanises animals every week, if not every day, animals are just a commodity for them.

I ordered one of those Ancestry.com DNA tests.  Found a Groupon code that got me $20 off so it was around $88 I think after shipping.  I'm curious to see what it comes up with, my uncle on my mom's side had some Iberian in his results, which was unexpected, and I also have a relatively large amount of Eastern European background because of my paternal grandfather's family tree.

I might also order one of higher tiers of 23andMe DNA tests in a month or two.  Those ones will tell you about medical conditions you're more susceptible to and whether you're a genetic carrier for certain diseases if you have kids down the road.
