Walk into the eye glass place and stretch your eyes with your hand. That will signal to them that you need new glasses.
i’m determined to get them repaired if i can. the frames are rare and hella expensive. and i like them. they’re super lightweight.
Every year they make us watch a bunch of training videos about things. I . currently watching the one on sexual harassment in the workplace. I realized I am both a victim and perpetrator. Continuing the cycle of a abuse. 😔 😢
Not that you should just take every bit of random advice you hear on the internet, but it's almost like what we've been telling you about your various girl stories.
I was a victim of sexual harassment by the substitute teacher. I was pressured by coworkers and she integrated me into her work routine until I gave in in a moment of weakness. A Catholic moment of weakness.
...
The 25 year old meanwhile encouraged me the whole way. You don't go scheming to smoke pot with a guy who is sexually harassing you. There too I am the victim.
...
I am seeking therapy to work through the PTSD.

Uncertain how far you should pursue that angle. Glass houses.
Why don't you acknowledge my lived experience?
Should you brush your teeth at work? I wanted to brush my teeth all day.
Should you not? Do you make out with substitute teachers after lunch without brushing?

I always carry gum or mints with me. You should always have gum or mints within arm's reach since you never know when you may need to kiss someone.
Um, yeah, pretty unlikely. Contact the manufacturer and blub until they give you a new set.uziq wrote:

If it helps you wail remember all these 'brands' probably pay ~$10 for the actual frame, the rest is markup, to pay for nice offices and the advertising which sucks you in.
So really they should just give you a new set for the $10 it'll cost them.
Fuck Israel
At the risk of sounding like I'm intentionally arguing with you at every turn …
That's probably not true. While you may not have any frame repair shops anywhere near you, it as a business is still alive. I cannot imagine that there's nowhere in Seoul that caters to that sort of thing.
Small blessing that as of yet, I don't need glasses (or don't think I need them, should probably go check on that). If I do eventually end up with an expensive pair, I'm keeping them in a case when not sitting on my head.

there are repair services that can fix metal frames using soldering. it won't be as-new, obviously, but it's a quick fix that i need.Dilbert_X wrote:

i'm aware of the mark-up on glasses frames, it's not exactly an industry secret. luxottica have cornered the market with insanely high mark-up prices.
but you can solder and weld glasses frames. there are businesses for this. and the service typically costs 10-15% the value of the frames. i could find an online service for this easily but i don't want to deal with the international shipping and korean customs. their process makes my head hurt and i'd have to pay large processing and customs fees, to boot.
what is unlikely is getting a free replacement frame because of wear and tear. that's the first thing to be ruled out in just about any warranty t&c.

I broke my finger playing softball this past Thursday. Do not recommend. It's pretty fucking lame.
I've mentioned before as a point of contrast to cat people acting gross and weird that it was a thing shared by bird people (and other pet owners, but that's unrelated to the following):
Hanging out with birdwatchers, one of the subsets of bird-people, can be a trip sometimes.
me: wow, look at that blue jay over there, striking colors
them, who own a small library of bird books: actually that's a fidgetius pomfranius, common name 'spackle-throated clodswhollop.' specifically indigenous to dunderhead valley in the south cascades region. it's unusual to see them out this far!
me: *remembering all the time I spent browbeating them out of their pit of covid misinformation "because you can't trust the experts" and into getting vaccinated*

I can't imagine collecting that much useless information. Anyway, would you like to hear about the encirclement at Stalingrad?unnamednewbie13 wrote:

Who calls a public holiday for a Thursday? Felt like a Saturday, now I have to go to work tomorrow.
On the plus side half the workforce took the Friday off to make a four day weekend, and we have a long weekend next weekend too, so the place will be nice and quiet.

Severely autistic student knows to send messages and emails over the computer system.
He is absent today but still has sent 8 messages over the course of 2 hours. It is only 10 AM. I am going to end up blocking this kid.

He sent 35 messages so far. Last one was a moment ago
It turns out that since late May-ish, Michaels (art/craft store) has decided to up its mailer to up to 3x messages a day, and recently from an additional Michaels SALE. I don't shop there often. I've bought paints, markers, pens/pencils, and the odd picture frame. I've never ordered anything online. Who in corporate decided it was a good idea to, out of nowhere, suddenly flood people's inboxes (even if seldom-checked & throwaway) with this visual clutter? Each message pocked with 1-3 emojis, frequent use of all caps, and formatting like "On. Sale. Now!" Did someone learn this in business school? It got my attention, yes, but only to go to their website to check their "please stop" box.

About every 3-6 months I go through my primary email accounts and unsubscribe from most of the spam lists I somehow get added to.
