how sadistic, exactly?
"Bryant admitted to having sexual intercourse with her, but stated that the sex was consensual. When asked about bruises on the accuser's neck, Bryant admitted to "strangling" her during the encounter, stating that he held her "from the back" "around her neck", that strangling during sex was his "thing" and that he had a pattern of strangling a different sex partner (not his wife) during their recurring sexual encounters. When asked how hard he was holding onto her neck, Bryant stated, "My hands are strong. I don't know.""
"It was revealed that Bryant leaned the woman over a chair to have sex with her, which allegedly caused the bleeding. This was the sex act in question, as the accuser claims she told Bryant to stop, but he would not"

was kobe the one who also had really strict sexual standards for his daughter? i feel like a sports star was in the news recently for saying how he took his daughter to gynos as a routine thing and demanded to see she was still 'intact' (not that it means anything).
No, that was T.I. the rapper

I don't get choking during sex. I think it says a lot about a person if he is throttling you during sex.
I think it would be difficult to fully quantify the risk factor of helicopters in comparison with other small aircraft on a single table. Mechanical and control complexity, weather, differences between requirements (training, experience, safety, and medical) of general vs. commercial aviation, weather hazards, hazards at low altitudes, and frequency of take offs and landings are certainly all factors.
An article mentioned weather, I think? Recording from liveatc.

Someone on reddit posted a link that showed that you are 60 to 80 times more likely to die in a helicopter crash than in a car accident. Helicopters just aren't safe? The U.S. military crashes a few a year too.
'they' dilbert? i think that's pretty universal. you're acting as if there aren't white rapists or white men with sadistic kinks who can also be fathers.Dilbert_X wrote:

my thinking was more that, at least on the level of basic physics, at least a plane 'works with' aerodynamics. a helicopter is literally pummeling physics into submission. as soon as that engine cuts out you are, more or less, going to drop like a stone. i know heli pilots are trained to autorotate but, yeah, fuck that.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

I was offered a chance to experience an autorotation landing it when I was younger, with less of a clue about aviation terminology that wasn't just nerd numbers recital from Jane's. But the first thing that went through my brain was "up in the air, shut engine off, drop like a stone."
As I understand it now, levels of training for it are inconsistently required or sought out and practice for muscle memory is a big deal. With that and other items, I can't say I blame you for shying away.
All of my helicopter hours are in video games. Brave men and their proud simulators.

I wonder if and when the the feminist will try to interrupt the public mourning to start a discussion about the rape case. I read the details of the case. He should have been guilty of a "not stopping when told to stop" rape. The only reason he got off is because the witness didn't want to testify and had a lot of credibility issues. I think he would have won the case if it went to trial though.
i was sort of surprised to see it in all the breaking news, actually. the immediate news coverage over here all included a paragraph about it (perhaps because these people aren't that well-known in europe, so it needs to be mentioned). it's actually surprising how big these figures are in the states compared to elsewhere. same with american football players.
Sports people die all the time in the U.S. Kobe was just at the very apex of the sport for a good amount of time that made him famous. 5 time champion with two Olympic gold medals. He was also the all time MVP for the team from Los Angeles, the media capital of the U.S. He also won an Academy award last year.
Aside from the case he beat, his public image was pretty clean. He might have beat that case in part because of how clean his public image was.

kobe won an oscar? did big shaq ever take home an oscar for his action movie career?
i think the closest analogy to the kobe incident we have in the UK is colin mcrae. also killed in a helicopter crash. wildly popular and game-dominating rally car driver (including a console game franchise that was as popular over here as a tony hawk or dave mirra thing).
now i think about it, isn't dave mirra dead too? christ.

He got the Oscar for best animated short film

Barely deserved probably but at least it isn't about gay people.

Mcrae died? I partied with him at Schiphol Airport about 15 years ago. Understood 1/5 of what the Scots were sayinguziq wrote:

You tell your girlfriends they gonna wanna try it out

i'm just amused you're googling rap lyrics to bolster your 'rap and rappers are immoral' line.
