They don't sell Budweiser in bars here, but everyone thinks that's all we drink. oh well.
while technically correct, is this tech related?pirana6 wrote:

I bought a usb-c phone and now I have to buy a bunch of usb-c to usb-a adapters
Some new motherboards come with a USB-C port on the back now
Also which phone is it?

Nexus 5x. Love it, but then again this is the first phone I've actually shelled out money for instead of just taking the "free" one you get with 2-year contract.
anyone using Linux?
yes. not on my main comp, but secondary laptop at home (for fun) and secondary desktop at work (for troubleshooting linux issues people have at work).
also my work just made the switch from RHEL to CentOS. Not a major change but one I'll have to get used to nonetheless.

why 'used to'? difference between distros?

small differences between the distros - as with all distros.
what do you need Mint to do?
And why mint? as with all distros, there's nothing necessarily inherently wrong with it, just curious.

MintOS, because it's installed (a prospective employer and a current educational institution recommended it) and it's the preferred OS in my area.
i am just now trying to bend it to my will. gedit?

Nano
just for an alternative boot up to work comp when on the road. nothing main.
Sometimes I forget how old Windows 7 is and then on certain new or higher end older computers I re-realize that it doesn't come with plug-in USB 3.0 drivers upon reinstallation.

Upgraded to Windows 10. It was a breeze. Will also download to disc from MS eventually. Freed up so much space on my OS drive.
I just keep the Media Creation Tool on my desktop and it can automatically download the latest mainstream build of Windows 10 whenever you want to make a DVD, bootable USB, or just an ISO file. Then you don't need to have a possibly out-of-date ISO sitting around taking up space.
The November build ISO is great because now you can just use the W7/8/8.1 key right off an OEM computer to upgrade and the W10 installation will recognize and validate it from the beginning. Worked perfectly on my friend's XPS laptop when we put a new SSD in today, turned his W7 Home Premium license into W10 Home without ever having to install 7.

Huh, I didn't know that. Will just use that then. Good info.
Is there a way to get a url to stop showing up in chrome without wiping out my entire browsing history? I just want to block out two reddit subs.
I searched in history and deleted all of the sites that had the name of the subs in it. It still shows up when I put reddit.com into my browser though.

Via chrome://history yes? Try all of roddit, otherwise you may need to turn off suggesting history or deleting entire history

Oh, I did know about it. I just didn't know that was the name of the thing that you download.unnamednewbie13 wrote:
