uuh, most of america saw those things about the zimmerman case. look at the representation of tweets or news comments from east/west coast papers and media. look at the public sentiment. everyone who isn't in the butt-fuck south thinks it's an "embarrassment" for america that you still have these laws and are able to produce these verdicts. the rest of the world don't really care. they just like sitting back with a smile. america really conceives of itself as the 'most advanced' and 'best' nation on earth, but then is capable of straight-up middle-ages christian horse-shit. you guys are delusional. it is never okay to walk into a fight with someone carrying a gun and then kill them.

zimmerman is a pussy and he'll be dead soon. i guess that's how 'real' justice gets done in america. either that or they'll hook him up to some sort of witness protection-type scheme, and you'll be paying millions of taxpayer dollars a year to keep some coward in safety.

It seems like the media is chomping at the bit waiting for rioting to kick off? I'm looking and saw some folks unhappy with the verdict protesting, but nothing of a newsworthy disturbance. It seems a lot of older people were waiting for shit to kick off, too. Some I spoke to yesterday said they'd be locked and loaded for fear that there'd be riots as a result... in Indiana...

no it's not. in a vocal debate the main skill is rhetoric and the ability to construct an argument. oral debating is about being able to place your interlocutor in a rhetorical grip. written debates are about providing reasons, sources, evidence, back-up. oral debates are great for politicians or public figures, who want to win public favour without asking the audience to do much work (i.e. reading, research).

also lol, just the fucking idea of a random stranger adding you on skype to 'voice debate' you. it was about animal farming in the southern states as well. okay. yes it's really surprising i turned it down. and like i said to him in the first place: oral presentations and lecturing are WHAT I'M GOING TO DO FOR A CAREER. i was hardly shaking in my boots because i am 'incapable' of thinking things up on the fly. i turned it down because it was weird and pointless. debate in d&st where everyone else can contribute. not some weird 1v1 thing.
