you have to have steam installed to play the game. there is no difference between 'pub' and 'pro' players. if it's a steam game, you playing it will show on the steam stats. call of duty is exempt from that list because cod1-4 are not steam titles. cod4 and cod2 are more popular than any other call of duty game for pc (the latest shitfests are incomparably ahead on console, of course). the numbers are not misleading. besides, i'm talking about league take-up and 'competitive scene'. thus far CS:GO has made a paltry contribution to the competitive scene. it looks like a sickly and invalid child. cs1.6 and cs:source both totally commanded fps esports during their own post-release hey-day.
Well the Counter-Strikes are still up there and Dota 2 still wins no contest, so w/e. I've been tempted to load up the old CS again, but am afraid that I'll get sucked into it for another year.Uzique The Lesser wrote:
nope. i check the stats several times a week. check them when the users reaches its daily peak, i.e. when the stats are representative of a proper average.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

I can't help but be sad that Space Marine could have been up at the top but just nearly make the cut. Unfortunately, the game was utterly hobbled by the fact that it relies on P2P servers and does one of the worst jobs at it that I've ever seen. Frequent pauses while waiting for connection, forever-pauses between switching hosts and annoying slow-motion gameplay at times that I'm guessing stems from your PC letting the host catch up. When the waters are smooth, I pretty much forget about it, but it gets bad fast.
The company's response was to ignore complaints or outright delete threads too critical of the game with no explanation, and in an effort to mollify the userbase we got a $10 map pack with a new survive-the-wave coop mode. Whoopty-doo.
While it's slightly better than it originally was, it still has quite a few problems, which is a pity because the weapons and classes are all remarkably balanced. For example, the "shotgun" is supposed to be hard counter against the jetpack class, but they can counter-counter simply by standing back and shooting you in the face two or three with a pistol. The axe felt like the only odd one out, completely outclassed by the fast-hitting sword and mostly one-shot hammer. A forgettable campaign, but visceral multiplayer fun allowed to collapse through the inattentions of the people who made it.
All the same, I still play it...but there's like 5-6 P2P servers up at any time for the most popular game mode...if I'm lucky.
There's a saying somewhere in there about pots and kettles, but there wouldn't be much of a point. You actually seem to enjoy grinding on for pages about how terrible it is when people don't share your opinion, and it wouldn't be news to anyone.Uzique The Lesser wrote:
jesus, you and newbie really can't concede a point well, can you? so childish.

what that?
the new aliens game, colonial marines.
it's shit.
it's shit.
As far as shit goes, it's OK shit.
It's improved mightily with the updates. Hardly flawless, but improved.
looks like an fps+tower defense
Bug Hunt mode is easily the best part of the game (and should have been in from the start since its the most obvious type of play for an Aliens game). Just a shame there's only three maps.
America leading the allies to victory over the U.K. and Russia in the first world war over the people of Ireland.
CameronPoe would be proud.
carrying a game as a lane support hero. feels good man. 3 deaths in 55 minutes.
I thought bragging about your scores wasn't hip.
an fps scoreboard isn't exactly informational or view-worthy. on the contrary, most screenshots from inside a game like dota would be pretty boring/confusing.

Been playing a lot a T:A lately. Too bad it's eat up with hackers though.
>dem stat growths
Honestly the newer versions of guns aren't different enough to really be noticed. What is sad is the fact they refuse to balance the one or two weapons that are ridiculously overpowered (fractal grenades).
