Learn to read the international phonetic alphabet!
It's on the first few pages of every dictionary for the respective languages.

(And while you're at it, go metric! )

Or you could answer a question as asked.

Easier said than done. Do you know how many of our tools, infrastructure and buildings aren't metric? Good luck getting construction firms and laborers to voluntarily relearn their shit, too. lol

Australia, New Zealand and many other Commonwealth countries did it in the 1970/80s.

Only Liberia, Burma and the USA are the odd ones out.

Motherfucking Ubisoft. Anno 2070 looked good, so I went to see how badly Ubisoft had messed it up. If you're in offline mode for whatever reason (including, as has happened already, their serves being offline,) then you lose out on all Ark upgrades, and all of the election buffs. That makes the game sort of like running a marathon with one leg, and makes a good chunk of the higher-tier stuff for Tech useless. Fuck you, Ubisoft. You're a bunch of black people.

Everything here comes in metric also. For instance a box of cereal will have the metric and U.S. weights on them. Schools teach both. Medicine comes only in metric. etc. People just prefer to use the old system in day to day things.

That's great, but I have no control over what measurement system US citizens use, nor if they even know the location of the state they live in or what a "Commonwealth" is. And I'd probably lose customers if I went 100% metric on my proposals.

And when I'm buying material, it's most likely going to be in five-gallon buckets or by the ton or cubic yard.

But anyway...fuck off Ubisoft.

Are you fucking kidding me? I can list over a dozen games that I played and enjoyed from that list. DRM is retarded, but so are pirates who pirate because they say they don't want to get ripped off by a bad game, but who also have no intention of buying it even if it's a masterpiece.

There's still a bunch of good games on that list. I'm not retracting that. Pirating also encourages DRM. I'm not retracting that either. To me, it's just not worth going through Ubisoft's nonsense anymore, and I'm not going to  justify their policies by deigning to pirate their software. Even if the game is good, there are plenty of others out there.

This thread has been on the front page of the other games forum for 8 months, and yet people are still buying Ubisoft games.

I think it's important that we sticky it and maybe put an announcement at the top of the forum to keep people from making the same mistake over and over again.

THQ just became my Ubisoft. Bought UFC 3 this weekend. They took out some of the most popular fighters and are selling them as DLC. Also there are about 20 or so challenge mode fights. 15 of them are locked and can only be unlocked by buying the challenge mode DLC. You can buy a season pass that will only give you a discount on future DLC. You can buy a stat booster for your created character for the game's career mode. But you only get to use the $2.99 stat booster on one character. If you don't buy the DLC your created character will have terrible stats throughout the game.

Not going to miss them once they go out of business.

lol thq.

See my complaints about Space Marine. I bought the collector's edition. The game is now $30. Not really a big deal. Here's what it boils down to:

1) Despite ongoing problems with lag, patch after patch has made it far worse or only moderately more playable for people. All this time and they still haven't folded and went for dedicated servers instead. Nobody's forcing them to remove the P2P component from the PC version, we just want an alternative.
2) Two community-splitting $10 map-pack DLC's have been released. All DLC for the game totals $44, mostly featuring chapter armor sets that you can't pull pieces from to make your own custom build. It's either all or nothing if you want to use that Alpha Legion armor. There's a glitch that allows you to bug it into slot 1, but full customization is still impossible.

Apart from that, the game is still very fun...when it works.
