Plan on upgrading some time this year (soon) after using this e8400@4ghz 4gb, 4890 1GB for 2~ years (starting to show its age, specially after this 4890 died, it's in zombie mode or something with some games)

This is what i have so far, was trying to keep the budget under 1k USD

Case:HAF 912 Cheap, enough big fan, trying to go for quietness, sick of loud fans, don't want to reuse my antec 300

HDD:Seagate barracuda green 1.5TB 5900RPM, mixed feelings about the RPM but I ran out of 500GB rather fast on this WD drive and the barracuda has 64mb cache

GPU:ASUS GTX 550 TI 1GB Kinda sick of ATI, and can't find a similar price point card for the performance either, will swap to an ATI card if someone can show benches with cooler chips/speed and lower price

PSU:RAIDMAX RX-850AE 850W Need a lot of help on this one, I mainly picked this one because it's GOLD certified but I know I don't need 850W and raidmax is hit and miss on the quality from what i've seen(modular isn't a must but I would like modular)

RAM:G.SKILL SNIPER DDR3 2133 8GB (4gbx2) Also on the fence, I want quick RAM and 8GB but this is probably a bad option

MOBO:GIGABYTE GA-Z68P INTEL Seems to be the best for the price as I won't need 3x PCIe

CPU:i5-2500K not much to say here, I plan on OCing

Cooling:CPU heatsink, ZALMAN CNPS5X SZ
Fans: Top 140mm
Side and front 200mmsLEDs don't matter but oh well can't avoid em

OS: win 7 (gotta get this free or cheap <.<)

total is around $900 atm, feel free to tell me what's bad

Get that barracuda now before you end up with a one year warranty version.

5900rpm main drive?
GTX550?
You don't need 2133mhz ram. Go for corsair vengeance 1600mhz

To be honest the graphics card isn't a great choice, you won't see any meaningful performance increase over your old HD4890.
If you're budget is  less than $1000 then I would go for this:

CM HAF 912

i5 2500k
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6819115072

8GB G. Skill 1600mhz

ASRock Extreme 3
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6813157271

Corsair TX-650

Sapphire HD6950
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814102954

Barracuda 1TB

Hyper 212

Total: $977 (-$50 MIR)

This will give you much better performance than the build you posted. The only downside is that the 650w PSU doesn't allow for crossfire. But i'll leave it up to you whether that is important.

You shouldn't really need extra case fans unless you are going crazy with overclocking. You can always add those later if you really need them.
