Shane.  It would fall in line with the comics and I've noticed some foreshadowing hinting that its coming.
Spoiler (highlight to read):
Like the fact that Carl is now going to be packing some heat ... and, in the comic book, Carl kills Shane to protect his dad.

Funny, his character also died quickly in "The Pacific" ... so, he knows how to take an early exit.

Sooo... now can they leave the farm and come back from the not so brief intermission that this season has been?

Epic mid-season ending indeed.

First half of the episode was the same watered down drama garbage the rest of this season has been.
The second half however felt, in comaprison to most season 1 episodes, average. Ok at best.
But compared to what we've seen of season 2 so far, it was great. A real improvement. Some guy told me this season would be 8 episodes long (I'm not sure on this), and if that's true, it's a damn shame they only managed to cram in 15 minutes of actual good footage so close to the end.

Anyone actually know how many episodes we got left?
Because I am getting the feeling this season will end with them saying goodbye to everyone onf the farm and leaving to that Fort. This doesnt seem so far away from happening now, I'm guessing in the next epidose after what Hershel saw them do at the end.

Previews from the next episode seem to indicate Herschel losing it and going into town or something and them going after him. Herschel going into full-on "life isn't worth living in this kind of world" mode Spoiler (highlight to read):
after what he witnessed at the barn and them trying to convince him otherwise.

Spoiler (highlight to read):
And that certainly wrapped up the whole Sophia plotline, eh? Makes you wonder how long they knew about her being in the barn and whether that will come out in the next episode...in FUCKING FEBRUARY. Bastards.

That sounds like a lot more drama to me, unless something goes down in the town.
let's face it, we all got some hope from this ending, but I highly doubt that they'll keep this up.

There was a car exploding in the preview of the next episode...so there's hope.

I really feel sad for those of you that want to see nothing but gore and stuff...

Kampframmer, there are 13 episodes in season 2 and there will also be a season 3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Th … d_episodes Quick Google search would've told you that.

Its a bit of a tease having a tv show based on the zombie apocalypse only to have multiple episodes of watching people complain.

maybe they spoiled us with the pace of the first season.

Darabont was fired halfway into filming season 2, but at that point we were just getting to the end of season 1 on television. That might be why the first part of the season sucks, and why we have to wait for the next episodes.

I wonder why he did such a good job for the first season and made the second one fail.

hm, I did not know that.
I never knew the details surrounding this writer thhat got fire-situation.
I thought it was one of the writes (appareantly this Darabont) that made season one so good and i figured he got fired before the shooting of season 2.

Strange how he managed to lift the series up so high and then just kick it off its pedestal.

There were a number of staff changes. Darabont was the executive producer, not the writer (apparently he wrote the season 2 premiere, however). Here is some more information http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Walking_Dead_(season_2)#Production Apparently the entire writing staff from the first season was let go, however, and all new writers were brought on for season 2.

During the talking dead Kirkman explained about Sophia.

While they were corralling the walkers Herschel says "this used to be Otis' job".  Shane shot Otis before they even knew anything about a missing girl and therefore couldn't mention the walker in the barn who fit the description.

mediocre episode (compared to the entire series).
I am assuming it was just an intro to the second half of se3. I liked the last scene though (in the bar), but mediocrity throughout the entire ep and then a tense ending seems to really be the trend this season.

Episode seemed to jump around a bit. The entire bar bit from start to finish was quite well done, I thought, though. Looking forward to next week's ep.

Does this show still suck or did they hire some decent writers?
