Next playthrough I'm gonna leave out smithing and enchanting.

Makes loot and gold completely redundant, and I have to crank things up to master difficulty just to stop myself from falling asleep.

smithing is the most important because then you can make OP armor and weapons
cant you level up smithing relatively easy by purchases iron ingots/leather strips to make iron daggers as well

you are missing on 98% of this game if you just whore the main quest line. look at timmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, 110 hours and he hasn't gone to the embassy yet.
Yea I know, I'll do the other quests later.

Most loot is redundant anyways because you can't sell any of the valuable stuff since no one has money to buy it.

But at least you have to look through the loot in case there's something worth wearing. I leave everything on the ground, open no chests, search no bodies. I had full legendary daedric armour 3 days after game release, about 10 hours in. Now with over 1000 armour rating and 60% magic resist I out regen all damage and I still have 3 full quest lines to do and all the side quests.

I have definitely ruined the game for myself by powerlevelling smithing and enchanting. I don't wear my daedric armour anymore and I've cranked up the difficulty but I'll most likely still start a new character and take things more slowly.

Ah. I think I'll do the main quest then side quests, seems logical.

What's so bad about the main quest that you have to "explore for 30 hours"? Seems like a waste of time. I know I'll get screwed over by some diffcult enemies, but that's the fun part
You realize that the main quest-line will eventually end the game right?

Not to mention make changes to the world...

Go there, but stop doing the main quest after it...

But that's wrong. This is not Fallout 3.

Wait so can someone clarify here.  After the main quest is over, is the game still playable?

Yes.

The main quest barely even changes anything in the world when I think about it.

I would think the main quest wouldn't end play. I think Bethesda learned their lesson with Fallout 3 when the vanilla game ended your game and you had to create a save game before the final quest if you wanted to continue exploring, unless you bought their $10 DLC. It was worth it IMO, but just a cheap ploy to get money.

Didn't Oblivion have massive DLC packs too? I would think they would like to have the same for Skyrim and not have to do some "buy $10 DLC to extend game" bullshit again.

Oblivion had fucking horse armor DLC. It's basically the first example of worthless DLC. Though it was only like 2 dollars or so.

Then again it had Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles too.

And for the final time: YOU CAN KEEP PLAYING AFTER COMPLETING THE MAIN QUEST, I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I COMPLETED THE MAIN QUEST.

The main quest is "HOLY FUCK ALDUIN MUST BE STOPPED" has nothing to do with "EMPIRE SO EVIL BAAAW"
